Is bho worth it for plants at this stage let alone males?

Not at this stage! Male flowers can produce pollen as early as 2 weeks after changing lights to the 12/12. 3-6 weeks after initiating flowering, pollen sacks open and continue producing flowers for several weeks after the first pods have begun to shed pollen. Once male flowers are clearly visible but not yet open, THC production is at peak level. THIS IS THE BEST TIME TO HARVEST and make hash oil, LOL.:bigjoint:

zeeb, whats up man. hope all is well on the west coast.

Im fuckin curious... im getting close to harvest and I am starting to worry that I will fuck all my time spent and hard work up in the cure/trim. I wanted some first hand advice on your general harvest techniques. I plan on trimming up the plant now, during flush (cutting anything below my canopy or any leaves that are resin-less) to force the fresh water straight to the buds to flush them out. Im mainly wondering when you do your fine trimming. some do it while the plant is wet and some do it after its dry, right before they go in jars. i think this is definitely the trickiest part of the process. I think I'll have the jar cycle down. I just wanna get there first.

im mainly asking because I chopped a little cola a few days ago and its looking pretty shwag :( like the leaves are curling up and what not, looking pretty nasty, not like something i wanna smoke lol. granted, it was a smaller cola that didnt get as much light but still. i let it dry in a show box for 2 days and i thought it was ready for a jar so ive been burping them ever so often. thanks in advance man.

IMO man ^^ don't trim the leaves while flushing. leave them on there to conduct photosynthesis and make your plant continue to workhorse the fattest, nastiest, tastiest fuckers until the last minute. also, since you are flushing period, you'll want the leaves on there so the plant can suck as many nutes out of itself as possible to finish up and produce since there will be none in the soil or whatever grow medium.

I would just leave the leafs alone just cut the yellow leafs off. What is happening is once the leaves start turning colors going from green to kinda yellowish to orange that's an indications the plants are running low on the nutes. I'm convinced by flushing with plain water and some molasses for 2 weeks straight you will have much smoother smoke and better taste. with my last harvest I trimmed all the leaves and made the buds looking like lollipop shapes. after drying and curing the smoke was as good as without trimming. The key is when to cut and how to dry em. The best time to harvest is in the morning when the THC content is at it's peak. You can harvest entire plant or one branch at a time. You can remove the large leaves 1-2 days before actually cutting the plants down or remove leaves after cutting.
Drying – very freakin important, when u cut a plant or plant part and hang to dry, the transport of fluids within the plant continues but at a slower rate (stomata close soon after harvest). The drying part over 5 to 7 days or even longer, moisture evaporates evenly into the air, yielding uniformly dry buds with minimal THC decomposition. Keep the buds away from window openings or fans directly blowing on em. For best results, drying should be slow. Ideal air temp is between 65 – 75 degrees and humidity from 45-55%. One more thing, cut braches from 12-40 inches and keep em 6” apart for adequate airflow.
Curing – now curing allows buds to continue to dry slowly. The firs week of curing affects potency in that it evenly removes moisture within the bud so virtually all THC is psychoactive. Cut stems into 12-18 inches and place them in an airtight containers with a rubber seal. Gently pack as many buds into container as possible without forcing and damaging em. Leave the containers in a cool, dry and dark place. Check in 2 to 4 hours to see if buds have sweated. Check buds by gently squeezing to feel if they are moister than they were a few hours before. If stems fold instead of snapping when bent and buds are still moist, remove em from container and leave em out for 15-30 minutes. Remove when they are dry and place back into the sealed container. Check em the next day to see if they are evenly dry. Open the container for a few minutes every few hours to let the excess moisture escape before closing the lid again. Basically u need to monitor em very closely till they r completely dry.

As for fast drying to smoke, lol, that's how they look and taste like shit, lol.

My October harvest now taste and smells completely different from 2 months ago. :-P

I was running 1200-1500ppm sometimes during peak weeks in flower and the plants seemed to love it. I run botanicare with very few additives.
