So if you guys havent caught wind of this yet, Ohio is considering a ballot inititive that would make recreational pot legal..... with a few auxillery conditons of course!

What the state is currently planning (behind closed doors) to do is confine all major production to a handful of individuals who just so happen to be campaign contributers.

And you were worried about the Mexican cartels lol. Good to see American capitalism at its best, if you live in Ohio, i would encourage you to vote against this legislation. Its pretty much akin to the way Internet service providers and utility companies operate, aka state sanctioned monopolies....

BUT, you could end up growing for Nick Lachey, so maybe its not as bad as it sounds lol

Or they can open it up for everyone, but make the license and permit fees so outrageously high only big tobacco companies will be able to afford. My state wanted to charge $50,000 sure I can just right you check. NOT!!!

I'm glad someone gets it. And 50k sounds really low. Wait till it becomes legal federally. Then your looking at 250k not including yearly and quarterly compliance costs

People don't realize it didn't become legal to homebrew in all 50 states until a few years ago. Think it will be any different with weed?

Take the money out of it and you eliminate criminals, prison industry and goverment

Until then, the way to hasten that day is to flood the market with truly affordable top shelf indoor cannabis. Drive the price down and it will accomplish the same thing.

Our perspectives may differ based on geography in terms of how we're viewing the market. Here in Colorado it's already legal.
Here in Wisconsin 1 plant is a felony that comes with property seizure.
The cops actually look up car ownership when they make arrests to see how easy the forfeiture is going to be

Nope perfectly legal. Sick, immoral and should be outlawed. But as of right now, legal.
It does give incentive to finance a car. A finance company will fight a forfeiture, a private citizen cant afford it
Just because a thing is legal does not mean it isn't corrupt. That's a lesson this country needs to get through its short sighted, self serving head- and soon, before it destroys everything we and our grandparents worked for.

Home grow will be legal with this initiative. 4 plants in flower at a time. Don't quote me on the rest of this but i believe it's No limit on plants in veg and 8 oz's in possession at a time. The commercial side is basically a monopoly but it takes big bucks to get something like this done, especially in in a state as conservative as Ohio. Getting it legal is by far and away the biggest hurdle to overcome. The people putting up the bucks needed a carrot to get them in the game so i'm willing to let them reap some reward for the monetary risk they are taking. Fixing the monopoly issue will be much easier to address after the battle for legalization is over.

Alcohol prohibition ended this same way and even today you still can't just open up a commercial brewery or bar without plenty of government hoops and tons of cash. If home brewers had held out for perfection we would all still be drinking in speak easy's.

If people didn't hold out for full legalization or oppose it because they would lose money It would be legal to grow and possess by now
