I'm a moron please help! I was attempting to clean my extract by redissolving it in alcohol and running it through a syringe filter, then when I heated up the alcohol in a hot water bath the shot glass I had the redissolved extract and alcohol into broke. Now I have a cup filled with an alcohol oil/water emulsion that is milky and will not separate. My guess is that the alcohol hydrogen bonded with the water and the oil is attached which would make it stable enough to resist the cooling and heating I have already performed. I have already cooled it in the fridge overnight, I have heated it in the microwave until it was roughly 130°F, I have froze it but nothing has worked. I'm saving boiling until last resort cause it will decarb the oil. How should I go about breaking the emulsion and getting the oil and alcohol/water to separate?
