Ok I messed up need help redesigning light ordered wrong driver

Obviously I was high when I ordered my parts for my light I was suppose to order Meanwell HLG-120H-c1400 instead I ordered C700. So here's the deal I have 12 Vero 18, plus I ordered two Area 51 Vero 29 fixtures looking to fill up a 4x4 tent with the goal of pulling a pound a cycle. I got great advise from Rahz to make a light patoon to power 6 of the Vero 18. But the design was for c1400 so I need help with with to do with. The driver I have oh I also ordered a 36in 46 profile heatsink. So I'm looking for some help. Thanks.

What I suggested was HLG-185H-C1050.

Suck that drivers are no return. I've made that mistake before. If you run them with the .7 amp drivers you might not be impressed with the light for flowering. It would be a more efficient use of the space, more GPW but less watts.

So what can I use the driver for?

If you have HLG-120H-C700 you can run up to 7 Vero 29s with it, with each Vero using 20 watts.

Two of those with 6 each and the two A51 units, the PPFD will be in the 500s. Each additional A51 unit will increase the PPFD by about 100.

Or bite the bullet and order 2 HLG-185H-C1050s. With the A51 units PPFD would be around 700 (I was doing some bad math in the other thread). Sell the ones you have on ebay, or keep them as they are really nice drivers for the right project. For that matter someone on the board might be interested in them.

I have Vero 18 so how many of them can I run

ok thanks all is not lost
That's what I was trying to say earlier. You can still split the 12 Vero 18s, 6 on each driver. You could order 2 more and do 7 on each driver. You're at just over 500 PPFD like that. Bite the bullet and order 2 HLG-185H-C1050 and you're looking at 700 PPFD. You could use the C700s and add a third A51 unit and get 600 PPFD but that would cost more than just ordering the drivers you want... and then sell the HLG-120H-C700s or keep them for a 2nd chamber you may want. Lots of options beyond that, I'm just trying to give you the options that keep costs down. I think 700 PPFD can give impressive yields.

For that matter 500 PPFD in a 4x4 would give a nice GPW. If someone is getting 1.5 GPW with PPFD around 8-900 then it should be easy to get 1 GPW with 500 PPFD. So I dunno, just depends on what you're trying to do.

Hi Tjblack!
Take 2 additional Vero18 and go with 7 on each driver. Thats the cheapest way IMO.
Some brief calculations.
A V18@700mA needs 28,35v x 7pcs. = 198,45v x 700mA = 139w x 42% eff. = 58,35PAR/w x 4,88μMol/s(4.000k) = 285μMol/s/m² :1,44m² = 198μMol/s/1,44m² from each driver..
With 6 Vero18 and this driver you get 119w an ø 50PAR/ww = 244μMol/s/m² = 169,5μMol/s/1,44m².
If you go with new 1050mA HLG-driver..
5x 29,5v = 147,5v x 1050mA = 154,9w x 40% eff. = 61,95PAR/w = 302μMol/s/m² : 1,44m² = ø210μMol/s/1,44m².

That meens, if you go with the parts you have the 2 drivers will give you ø340 additional μMol/s/1,44m² to your Area51 units.
If you buy 2 Vero18 you can increase it to 396 additional μMol/s/1,44m² and
if you go the expensive way and buy 2 HLG-120H-C1050 you can increase it to 420, but you will have 2 Vero18 left.
With 2 HLG-185H-C1050 and 2x6V18 =512μMol/s/1,44m².

The 2 Area51 @2,1A will give you 308μMol/s/m² and 215μΜol/s/1,44m².
So with 12 V18 @700mA = 555μΜol/s/1,44m²
With 14 V18 @700mA = 611μΜol/s/1,44m²(my favorit)
With 10 V18 @1050mA = 635μΜol/s/1,44m²
With 12 V18 @1050mA = 727μMol/s/1,44m²
Hope that helps a bit choosing the next steps! :-)

My original suggestion was 2 HLG-185H-C1050... could use all 12 Veros, only like $5 more each than the HLG-120. Assuming 40% efficiency across the board it comes to 694 PPFD.
