Ok..kinda dumb question

Hey all,
so I'm a 40ish guy who never cared about computers when younger,I've been in the building trades since 20.im not the best with computer language,can somebody tell me what....

1- what does a like mean? I just noticed some of these in the notification area AND is there a general etiquette when you receive one?
2- this is my embarrassing question, what is it when I see. +rep ??

3- there is a little bar of green squares where an avatar would be(if I new how to find one..)

I'm sure ill ask other laughable questions in the future but this is good for now..:mrgreen:

1. LIKE is a SQL query statement verb, a table lookup -- oh, you mean "Like", it means you like the person's comment or post
2. +rep is giving someone reputation... the little green bubbles under your name get longer with more reputation

You can find a generic avatar to use for the time being if you look along the top very top of the page. Look to the right and you will see, "MY ROLLITUP", click on this and it will take you to a page where you can adjust your setting. On the right side of the page, you will find "edit Avatar" under "my settings" click this and you may upload one from the generic selection displayed at the bottom or if you have something already saved on your computer, you can select to upload it. If you want to get something from the net, I've found it best to search for a picture first, save it in your picture file (flag it if you can) and then you can access it easily to load it up. Avatars are great for helping you become recognized quickly. After a certain number of posts, you will be able to send personal messages to people. Good luck and welcome:)
