Ok so what if marijuana was legalized?

I agree 100% about the ease of going to the store and buying it.

One question... Will manufactures cut corners or use chemical ferts to grow their buds? Tobacco companies put many substances in their product. Can we expect the same in light of profit?

a lot of people will grow. a lot of people will be bad at it and not want to spend the time/energy/space to grow for themselves.
it's easy to make beer, a lot of people do it. The resources to brew your own beer are not hard to get, but in reality most people buy it for the
quality, variety and convenience. I know that if it was legal for me to grow and also available to buy, I would buy some once in awhile even while i was growing.
And also for social gatherings. When people are gonna have a party they buy beer and food. More than they would consume on their own in the same ammount of time.
I certainly see a market for it even when people are growing their own.

I agree with most of your points, but when was the last time you bought tobacco? A pound of cigarette tobacco is close to $60 around here. 18 months ago it was less than $30. The increase was because of tax. I ran out while on the road and bought a pouch of American Spirit. I got excatly 18 cigs using a Top-o-matic. The price of that pouch was over $6. Last I heard, the true tax rate on a pack of cigs was close to 85%.
In my state, the latest tax increase is earmarked for children's health services. In Cali, one of the increases was supposed to fund ER's for patients without insurance. Sin taxes are used to support every unfunded program that comes along. Pot tax will be no different, and the price will certainly not go down.
I apologize, I should have been more specific. Yes, the hefty bags of tobacco go for about 25 bucks where I am. I am talking about the personal-sized pouches which come with 25 papers. Otherwise I would have compared weed with cartons of cigarettes, rather than packets. My bad.

Thing is you will always have the people who prefer organic or home grown so if big corps tried to muscle in only retards would keep buying shitty bud with chems in it instead of growing of finding a friend who grows, thing is if weed was legalized people already have so many setups that if they didnt have to hide it ridiculous amounts of weed would be grown in my closet, back yard, and any other occupiable space lol. happy burnin

Oh forgot the flip side of the argument, if big corps did get in on it we could end up with ridiculous genetics created through company competition which would be fucking awesome.
