Ok to connect 18AWG to 16AWG?

Yeah, the oil heater came without even a three pronged plug on top of that. Just your normal two-pronged.
That part is not so worrysome. Thats normal. im positive it would be a tad safer with a ground but thats not the bad part. the bad part is the wires they use are not rated for the 1500w the heaters are rated for. they say "they are only supposed to be used for no more then an hour at a time"

A guy that plans on using them as a normal heater shuold upgrade the wire right after purchase. I have never had a fire but ive came close more then once with these fucking heaters. I used them to heat my last home as gas was not an option.

Thanks so much for the safety information. I usually run this heater on the lowest option thankfully. I do typically run this thing while the lights are off or 24/7. You would recommend a heater that comes with 14 or 12 gauge wire?

Yes but you never see um. 14awg would be fine.
Running them on low or medium for 24/7 is "safe" as it will never pull enough power to heat the wire up. High at 1500w is where the problem lies.

I have done it for years without a fire but i pay close attention to the outlets and plug ends.
