Just remember it may be hunting season when you go out at night. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT wear a deer costume for cover!!!

Hunter1 : "Look here, this deer had weed on him"

Hunter2 : "damn hippie deer!" (shoots dead deer again)

Last year i used red party cups to cover my girls and place them into my backpack. Basically you take 2 cups, put them together to make a little pod and tape them together. If the girls get shaken around it wont matter because they will be transplanted soon into bigger containers. Just look as innocent as possible. Just be a day hiker going around for a nice stroll and has his lunch in his back pack.

Ok so I'm a new grower all togeth and decided to start outdoors.I started one plant way early, like in late december just to expieriment and its growing, growing slow but growing.so now its starting to warm up a bit where I live so I planted like 8 more plants, all sativa, haleys comet.I don't know a lot about growing so I figure ill just put them in the dirt and care for them like a baby, haha.I did it this way with no top soil or nuets cuz I figure that's how they grew it since the caveman days,(well maybe not that far back, but pretty long ago)will that be fine to grow?I'm not looking to get amazing buds off it right now I just wanna know I can do it so for next season ill be ready for what I get in to and will be somwhat familiar with the plants life.I wanna know if I can do anything to help keep them healthy?I don't have a bunch of money to go out and buy new soil or nuets,is there anything I can do to kepp them happy?and also are there any lil remedys or tricks to keeping bug and diseas away from my babys?also what is a sure way to know when ur plant is ready to be harvested?how can I produce a higher yeild off the plant?again I'm not looking for the bombest green in the city but I do want it to be decsent enought to take care of my insomnia and anxiety wich is why I smoke in the first place.any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best way I have found threw the years to get my plants to the great outdoors is..
I grow my clones in plastic cups till they are atleased 6" tall then I pack a COOLER tight with plants. Pack the truck with camping gear and a few coolers and I'm off to the bush..

Also I have put 8 cups{with Plants} in a 12 pack beer box and put it in a back pac and jumped on my bike and drove it to the bush..

Probly the hardest part of outdoor grows. I transported starts in 4" pots, put into 2 large cardboard boxes. Drove 4X4 road to end and carried boxes to grow area. Ground was prepared ahead of time for quik n easy planting.

In the end u'll have to decide for urself. I guess part of it depends on how far and difficult ur walk in will be. I find the cup idea to be ok, but iffy on keeping the plants in good shape if you say, fall on ur arse or something (it happens, just ask my spastic wife )

As for planting them next to a 'sister" type of tree/shrub.... I don't think it matters except you don't want to plant in someone else's root system (tree). Those roots are firmly established and will rob ur plants of nutes. No better to plant away from established trees/shrubs. I suppose if u had to pick a tree, then a pine would be best since its MAIN (many others) tap root goes deep down, as opposed to an Oak, which has a sprawling root system.... KK?

Good luck

Plant by blackberry bushes, they form a good wall, block views, keep pests away, somewhat, very compatable with cannabis, both have similar soil requirements, youll have to keep runners trimed back.

this idea is no good. i had the same thought you did and started doing research and found that the pine needels fall from the trees to the soil and alter the ph of the ground. it will make your plant only get about a foot to 2 feet tall.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. The PH in soil is hardly affected whatsoever by tree droppings. It is the minerals in the soil which dominate the PH factor.

Sort of like saying the earth affects the sun. It does, but nowhere near the scale that the sun affects us..... If the soil is tested and the PH is ok...the droppings during the grow will have no effect on the plants.
Of course you should always test the PH of the soil you are going to grow in.

cracker...
it depends bud... depends on how dense the surrounding soil is and rainfall... if you have a relatively airy soil and alot of toppings, and a good rainfall then yes it can most definately alter the ph of the soil...

That would mean that 18" of soil minerals are being thrown off by 1" or less of tree litter. That wouls also mean that PH levels are in constant flux out there in every soil with pine trees...but if you take a measurement of PH right now and go back in 6 months, the PH will be the same. So what gives?

what gives? the pine needels that sit there all year seeing that its in the woods and no one cleans them up. think there is years upon years upon years on shit that has dropped onto the ground from just one tree and just decays there on the ground under the tree.
