Old Timer looking for some help

I'm an old timer from the 70's, boy was weed different back then. We smoked Acapulco Gold, Columbian Gold and some good old Red Bud and I do miss the smell and flavor, everything now smells what we called ditch weed back then. Now I'm going to get to the crazy part, I want to grow some of my own weed but I only want to grow one plant at a time and when I smoke, I don't want to get stoned out of my gord. Does anyone have a suggestion for a strain that might take me back to my glory days, I would prefer an auto fem for simplicity. Thanks brothers.

Jamaican strains ... landrace strains.

btw ... the improvement in genetics over the years has made todays hybrid varieties a lot easier to grow than those back then.

i grow one at a time through spring and summer. i get enough to take me and wife though the winter. start over in spring.
i use an auto called northern lights. always get excellent yields, awesome smoke (though i can still funtion easily) and easy grow.
i remember all the strains u reffered to and smoked them all! lovely smoke!! GL

Older geezer than you, kid. Look up Dinafem Seedss White Widow Auto.

I think it did, this probably doesn't make sense, but when you burn a pile of brown leaves in the fall and you burn a pile of green leaves, the pile of brown leaves smell allot better to me. Same with the brown pot vs the green pot, but like I said, I'm an old timer.

Are you saying weed back then smelled better? hard to believe

It was different is all. Mexican sativas dominated for a long time before we started getting Colombian and Panama Red. Indicas were a long ways from being common in the 60's when I started. And it didn't smell better. The best we got odor-wise was strong smelling "pepper weed". Basically odor free compared to today's strains.

Those days are still here man..you can get garbage mexican brick for 250-300 an elbow..you get what ya pay for.

If you want an auto that is a bit like old school pot, you want Lowryder2. Something like this: LR2 Fem seeds
It is very easy to grow, the least strong variety I have grown and is very sativa like.
