Put that clear cup inside another cup or the sunlight will grow algae.
Crackled soil surface. I was talking about the structural integrity of the soil when it dries out. Cheers! My crackled plant? Could you tell me where and shoot me a pic of your seedings at day 12, maybe. I'm sponging it, need all info I can process and I'm seriously good at learning. New hobby to study, here.
That's the thing, it won't. Or it takes a really long time for it to do so. If the medium is oversaturated and never dries out then yes. You don't get algae growth on the soil surface if your pots watered properlyPut that clear cup inside another cup or the sunlight will grow algae.
Thank you much. I've been looking at Mars hydro kits I measured last night and have a decent sized area that I have a few choices of decent space, they're slot bigger than I'm gonna do first round. I have a whole studio apt I could potentially set up...lol. But I'm sticking to the alcove. Thanks again!Yes indeed, a Mars kit is definitely within your $500 budget and will get you from seed to harvest. Just understand what you are getting. The tents are decent quality, the lights work fine as does the carbon filter and exaust fan. The kit I got has dimmable light and adjustable fan. Now the exaust is not the quietest and there are better lights but the fact is that it will get it done. Makes a good staring point if you want to start out and see if it's your thing. If you are planning to do this for a while you will likely start upgrading things so that's something to consider. $500 wont get you a top of the line setup but will get you from a pack of seeds to decent bud if you grow it properly. I have a Mars grow kit test thread in grow journal section if you want to check it out.
It may depend on the water; ro vs tap, well or spring but i’ve seen algae grow quickly in many types of clear containers. It would grow at the root level where the moisture is, not surface. Look at a flower vase after a week. That's the thing, it won't. Or it takes a really long time for it to do so. If the medium is oversaturated and never dries out then yes. Much more important with light insulation running coir /rockwool where the medium never really dries out. But like I mentioned earlier, it's still best to use light insulated containers.
Wow, right. Slimy, stinky, chunky. I'm staring at one right now. LolIt may depend on the water; ro vs tap, well or spring but i’ve seen algae grow quickly in many types of clear containers. It would grow at the root level where the moisture is, not surface. Look at a flower vase after a week.
Go to Mars Hydro official page, that have alot of starter kits for beginners. Around the 600$ range. Comes with twnt, light, grow bags, carbon filter, inline fan all ducting, timer. Everything you would need for an indoor grow. The inline fans is cheap, maybe wgwn you have minwybyou could just upgrade them to the new Ac Infinity fans with the 67 remote. But tent and light is a good start for that price.Yes, I know. I need a lot of advice on indoor equipment I want to purchase next week. Is there a beginner forum for that?
Thank you! So much I saw one, basically what you are suggesting and may need to get a better fan bc I need to make sure odor is as low as possible. I have a 10yr old and my 75 yr old mother living here. She doesn't care due to location but, even tho there are locks, kids get curious if they see and smell something. My son knows I smoke but I vape it a lot and there's barely a smell. But even more, he will soon enough be a 13 year old and get really curious by then.Go to Mars Hydro official page, that have alot of starter kits for beginners. Around the 600$ range. There is no issue with the carbon filter in Mars kit. Its just louder than an AC infinity, still does the job it's designed for. Just an FYI. I have no issues with the SF kit, just like to reccomend one I have personally tested and shown to work.Thank you! For your budget, if it were me, I would go with a 600w Hps/mh combo buy a tent and carbon filter/fan combo. you could pick up all of the above for around 380 if you shop around. Then get the rest quality soil a decent easy 2 part nutrient. And a few pots (Home Depot). All this can be had for slightly under the 500 budget you have.Thank you! About this thread.
I disagree I just bought everything separate even a knock off tent not even mars hydro or viviosun but spent the money with two ac infinity fans and u spent 1,100 to get going. The Mars kit they throw in a TS2000 that light almost 300 alone. A tent isn't under 100 that's 400, plus she would need everything else. So a kit def cheaper than sperate. For your budget, if it were me, I would go with a 600w Hps/mh combo buy a tent and carbon filter/fan combo. you could pick up all of the above for around 380 if you shop around. You can almost always buy what’s in the kits, separate for less money than buying it all as one you pay for convenience.
Yea.. what? Except I didn’t suggest she spend 300 on a Mars light. I suggested she go with hid lighting, and with her budget I believe that to be her best option. So would many other members. a 600w hps/mh combo is going to do more than that Mars light would.I disagree I just bought everything separate even a knock off tent not even mars hydro or viviosun but spent the money with two ac infinity fans and u spent 1,100 to get going. Sure let's go with that lolVery tired?
I agree it will get you started. Being as frugal as I am I scour the auction sites. And help failed recently legal failures recoup some cash. If dedicated and patient you can build an almost top notch 4x4 for less. This is a long term game. Barter, dicker and trade until you get what you need. And if you finish a grow that you can enjoy indulging in? You can ignore the shiny people.Yes indeed, a Mars kit is definitely within your $500 budget and will get you from seed to harvest. I'm ordering mars hydro KIT 48x48x60 or 72. I like that it's a kit a lot. I've done so much homework and this really met my needs at a lower price that ala carte. About 600 as compared to maybe 8 or 850.I don't know about USA, but I tried shopping separately for the same items included in the 2x2 kit ( can be applied to both spider and mars ), and every time I would spend more than by simply buying the whole kit.
So for what I'm concerned in europe it's cheaper to just buy everything in a kit.
