Mr. Shrubber, yes they do. Which is why this one is interesting as its not outwardly fear the unknown based, more wait and see based. I looked for a reprint of the times, other than that link, you can find many of those articles without the paywall. I read as far as I could before the paywall popped up. Enough to get the gist of where it was going. Then looked for it. The MSN, popped up first, and took a different approach than the times did on its tone to a reader. Both use some of the same quotes from the same source but the rest of the writing creates different narratives between the two.

Fear of omicron is causing unvaccinated people to change their minds
Concern over the omicron variant of COVID-19 is lowering vaccine resistance among unvaccinated adults, President Biden said this week, though unvaccinated Americans are still more likely to see worry about the spread of the variant as excessive.

In remarks given at the National Institutes of Health on Thursday, Biden said a recent poll had indicated unvaccinated adults were now more willing to get the shot because of the new variant.

Biden did not specify which poll he was referring to because he was not entirely sure of the details, he said.

He said it was his understanding that 30 percent of unvaccinated Americans who had previously said they would get vaccinated “under no circumstances” now said they would get vaccinated because of the new variant.

There is some speculation Biden was referencing data from a recent Morning Consult poll, which indicated that the omicron variant was lowering vaccine resistance among the unvaccinated.

Among unvaccinated respondents, 30 percent said, given the identification of the omicron variant, they would consider getting vaccinated. That share was higher among unvaccinated adults who also indicated they were worried about the spread of the variant, according to the poll.

Still, unvaccinated adults overall were more likely than vaccinated adults to say concern over the omicron variant is “overblown.”

So you choose the one that fit your narrative better and then say that the NY times was worse?

Do you actually think that is the only story on the NY times about it, do you not realize that generally they will end up with several writers talking about similar information and bring different perspectives and information to their articles? That is the thing with something like NY Times, the information has to be accurate (or they get sued) and they have several people writing and editors.

Anyways, stick to the AP news is always my suggestion, but acting like some 'MSM' story is better information than the NY Times is just brainwashed cult shit IMO. The "MSM" article likely has the same quotes because that was the some blog style story based off the information from the NY Times anyways written with a particular slant to it. In this case keeping the death cult convinced that warning people of the very real danger of reinfection is somehow 'fear mongering'.

I used to be a news junkie. I would read the next day's NYT at midnight when it came out. Then I would read the same stories in other papers from around the country the next morning, And hear them on the radio and the morning news shows. Then see them again on the evening news. It's not as cut and dried as it used to be, but the NYT is still America's newspaper. They set the agenda as to what will be talked about.

I'm much better now. I only watch PBS Newshour and ABC evening news, and listen to NPR and the BBC on the radio.

Why bother? You don't understand the words you are sounding out. Might I suggest you switch to the Dick and Jane children's series?

Early numbers show the antivaxers who believe their prior covid infection makes them bullet proof will be in for a surprise, it's still too early to tell how mild or deadly it is.

just fuck them all in the ear...i could give a fuck. the only bad thing is that they will probably incubate new variants for the rest of us to deal with, but the more of them that drop the fuck dead, the fewer incubators there are in the future...and the fewer republican nut jobs there are to vote...

The number of people that have gotten the booster in the US is low, they think the vaccine is less effective with Omi but they don't know by how much, sounds like a bad combo.

I know someone that has long covid and the doctor advised her not to get the vaccine till her covid related numbers come down some, I'm worried about her.

i learned a long time ago that on an intellectual scale of 1 to 100, i'm lucky if i hit 40-45....and apparently that makes me a fucking genius compared to a lot of people, who are in the single digits. how long does life have to scrub your face in the dirt before you start to understand that you're stupid, and you should listen to people who are smarter than you about just about everything? is checking with multiple sources such a hard concept to grasp? you don't trust news outlet X? then how about A through W and Y and Z? if they're all saying the same shit, you can trust it...

she should wear a mask when she goes out, and just not go out any more than necessary. i'd be worried too. my best friend had a heart bypass put on hold at the beginning of the shut down, and just recently got it taken care of. they finally told him its alright to get the vaxx, and he's going to go get it, if he hasn't already, but i worried about him the whole time...i don't make friends like him often...and he lives in Michigan, which is apparently the epicenter of stupidity...
