Give it time then. It still might take you to the promised land. Do you know if it's sativa or indica dominant? Or is it high in CBD?
I would as well if I liked the smoke - it's the only way to save the strain.
The thing about monster-cropping is the cuts can take double the time to root. And I find that it's hard enough to wait 14 days for cuts taken in VEG.

Fdm has some breeder packs with various crosses. I went with the Cindy 99 and Durban packs.
Running the Cindy this time.
The one I took cuttings from was the most vigorous, narrow leaves and quite lanky. Others were the shorter,tighter with more classic Indica appearance.
They used quite a bit of Durban/Thai/Highflyer in these crosses along with others but the Sat dominant is what peaked my interest.

The two ladies have moved outdoors permanently since the weather is finally cooperating. They were transplanted from starter pots to their permanent 7 gallon black earth/perlite homes at 1:00 today:
Two hours later
It didn't take long for the large pots, the gentle VEG feed and the few hours out in the Big Light to bring them back.
Blue Cheese:
Red Diesel
The branches sort of aligned to the corners of the pots and will be spread towards said corners. The Red Diesel turned out to be a monster crop so she already has 4 good branches to work with. I'll top the Blue Cheese which will give her 4 branches to spread as well.
Then a spreading we will go ...
These girls should be pretty bushy come mid August when nature flips to 12/12 for me.

No ... they are not behind anything. That is the deck - it's a clear glass railing. The panels look tinted but they are not.
The plants themselves are ~8" away from those glass panels and the wind does reach that corner. I will move them a little further if the reflective heat from the glass become problematic. So far, no issues.
And there is nothing over top of them but the big blue sky.

Thank you on both fronts. It's a great place to grow a few outdoors keeping them close to our home so that the forest critters won't fuck with them. There are deer a plenty in the woods just behind us.
It's also a great place to crack a cold one and just stare out at the lake:
It's a tough life.
And, of course, since they were transplanted out on the deck, we have had that intrusion of the wildfire smoke which had cut down on both a good dose of sunlight and a little bit on the temps - especially overnight. Single digits have not done the ladies any favours ... but they are still kicking and there is still time to recover. They won't start to bud until mid August.

I hope to feed the outdoors plants and take a few pics later today. But the two indoor ladies did get their feed about 1 hour ago and any upward growth of the branches has been spread a little further outwards towards the perimeter of the buckets:

The screens will probably go up in another 2 weeks or so ... and at that time, most of those leaves on the underside of the new growth will be removed. However ...
A pretty fair size top snapped off in the process of flattening - prompting the typical "fuck me!!" response. Well ... it happens occasionally.
And with the break coming so close to the two branches, it was difficult to get my fingers in there to apply anything strong enough to hold the large top in place for the plant to recover.
Not to worry ... there are already a couple of branches that will be directed towards that area to help fill in the screens once they go up. One of the benefits of having the luxury of a longer VEG time.

The outdoor ladies are doing fairly well considering that they haven't received very warm temperatures or any really good sun intensity since going outdoors. Cloudy and cool have been the norm here for these past couple of weeks.
It was raining so I didn't go outside to take the pics. But they are both ready for topping ( the Cheese on the left only ... ) and lateral spreading to the corners of the pots.

While these pics might not indicate such, the two indoor ladies are doing great. Some of the branches have just been flattened and secured to the edge of the buckets. And whenever they are newly spread out like this, they look a little ragged for a day or so before things start growing upwards again. Love how these plants bounce right back.
I think the screens might be going up this coming weekend. I have a little larger lateral spread compared to the previous grow.

And from what I have seen so far, because of the cool and cloudy weather we have endured over these past few weeks, the BSpec's are completely outperforming Nature's Big Light. They have a lot more new growth on these girls compared to their outdoor brethren.

Looking at the feed chart, they are both slated for a feed later this afternoon. By tomorrow afternoon/evening those flattened tips will turn upwards and continue with the new growth.

Thank you Raggy. I am expecting my standard "about a pound" from the two indoor plants. I've seen what the VL's can deliver.
But I have no clue as to how much the two outdoor ladies will bring ... or if they even make it to harvest.
Gonna try to grow them about the same size as the indoor ladies so I assume they will yield the same.
I will see come October.

Indoors - OK ... so I am a little late on the update pics. What can I say - tempus fugit. But while the tempus was busy fugiting, the ladies were busy recovering. The screens might still be put up on Sunday - or maybe I'll give the ends one last little flatten then the screens go up middle of next week. Decisions ... decisions ...

With the clouds chased away and the sun showing her face the last few afternoons, the outdoor ladies are taking shape nicely too. The first pics are after they were flattened on the afternoon of Saturday June 17th. The second picture were taken following their bounce back about 48 hours later

Oh I've been wanting to try a cheese. I bought some Exodus Cheese from Seeds Supreme but they were old and only one ended up getting outside it's shell. Is your source seeds or clones? They look great.

Thanks Curious. Both are big plants that yield well. Those Blue Cheese plants going now are from clones - same with the Red Diesel plants for that matter - and both of the cuts came from Barney's Farm seeds that were popped back in late March 2020.
We were supposed to head on a vacation on March 24th of 2020 - and I had shut everything down since I had nobody to tend to them while we were away for the 17 days - when the pandemic put the kybosh on the trip. So I popped a bean of each strain the very next day after the trip was cancelled and I have been successfully rolling these two strains ever since.
I believe that Barney is currently marketing the Blue Cheese strain as Blueberry Cheese. This is a cross between the Blueberry and U.K. Cheese. Indica leaning that doesn't affect me like other indicas.
