Well harvest time is up and i have one smelly problem. When chopping and trimming my plant's my whole house starts to reek. I have tried to chop them in my tent and hang them in the tent to dry with the carbon filter but that doesn't seem to work .. does any one have any suggestions what i could do to cut the smell down when trimming. I was thinking about getting another cf for the basement which i trim in.

Although you're in the wrong section of the forum (this is for plant problems only not odor control) You're right about the extra carbon Filter. I have a very expensive CAN that should be able to take care of my room 12x12' hooked to a powerful inline fan, but this wasn't enough especially at harvest time and late flowering. So I just got another and this solved my problems. I also sealed the room the must I could.

Just out of interest, how old is your CAN filter??? Good brand and should do the job. I used to have the same issue but I was using cheap filter. I thought it was a leak in the cool tubes and replaced all my ducting with no joy. Upgraded to a RHINO filter and problem solved...... yet another exampe of increased costs due to trying to save money.

Advise to any grower........ DON'T SCRIMP ON YOUR RIG, IT WILL BITE YOU ON THE ARSE AND COST YOU MORE IN THE LONG RUN OR WORSE.....GET YOU CAUGHT.

It's brand new, I also hoped for it to remove odor of the room alone.. I must've got the wrong size, it's a CAN 50 that costed more than 200$ able to scrub 850 CFM. like you said, you gotta go for the overkill no matter the price and I didn't. I figured I had to seal the room because a power shortage would most likely mean a raid since my grow is at an apartment, thus I made some backup batteries for the scrubbers and pray everyday. Inside the room you can still smell a light hint of marijuana, but no odor goes out. I'm anal about this subject.

it only really stinks that first couple days, burn incence to mask the smell.
This would be a pain in the ass and hard to explain unless you run a church at home or really really love Buddha xD. This issue isn't about masking it's about never having people ask you about funny smells.

Tell you what. You can build a small drying cabinet with some wood or a PVC frame next to or inside your growing room. wrap it in black poly and place a small 4" filter inside with a fan controller so you can control drying rate, then get the material inside the small tent, trim and hang in spot. exhaust to the growing tent.

You wont like to be asked about funny smells, even if it's incense.
