Ok so i have wondered this forever! If you use FFOF soil... Should you only water the first month of flower time? I do know that an overfed plant will most definitely result in brown overwatered leaves... So the question again is the same.. Should you only use water the first 3-4 weeks of flower? ITS FUCKING HOT SOIL!!!! the soil with the fox on it, The red bag, is only half as strong as the FFOF just incase knowone knew! So i'll be waiting for a response, might take a few weeks but I am dying to know someones opinion! Also do you guys think(this is the second question) that this FFOF would hold pepper plants or tomatoes? it's time to plant the garden and i cant wait to use this soil!

So,.... should you only use water the first thee to four weeks with this soil!?!?

And,... do you think this dirt would grow nice peppers and tomatoes! thanks alot guy's !!:wall:

Your peppers and tomatoes will love FoxFarm soil. The Ocean Forest blend is a very rich potting mix that's designed for transplanting and established plants. Light Warrior is for your seedlings and the Original Planting Mix (red bag) is soil amender. It's hotter because your supposed to blend it with your existing top soil. FFOF and FFLW are for containers and raised beds. As long as you use them for their intended purpose you'll get great results. And yes, you should get about a month before needing to add additional fertilizers. However, always trust what your plants are saying. Some strains will can take feedings sooner and others later.

Agreed and well put. FFOF is a good nutrient packed bagged mix that is very commonly available. It is great for any plant; I've grown lettuce seedlings indoors in it (starts were germed in Light Warrior) and it required no additional nutrient to grow nice heads. Longer day blooming plants will start to want supplemental feeding 2-4 weeks after transplant in FFOF in my experience. Just watch for slight yellowing in the oldest leaves and begin to feed after that. For cannabis you can basically veg in it with nothing additional and then in bloom plan on supplementing it somehow. It is also dependent on how many transplants you do as each one adds a good bit of fresh nutrition to the root zone. It will go all the way but you will lose yield IMO (but the quality will probably be very good). For example transplant into 5 gallons veg one week more, switch to 12/12 then go another week or two plain water and then expect to give them some extra nutrient after week 2 to keep them from getting any deficiencies. :)

Heres how I would do it. Clones in 1 gallon plants until topped twice ( 2-3 weeks ) then transplant into ocean forrest and veg for another 3 weeks with nothing but water. You want to really really let the plants dry the hell out between waterings so the roots have to search and grow looking for water. So let them really dry out. Start supercropping and training and growing the soon to be colas. So after you have them nice and bushy with lots of vegetation...( lots of leaves and branches are a good indication of what your root ball looks like so ...grow those ROOTS ). So its a 7 week veg. Then put them into flower. Now watch them and when you see the small button buds forming the size of a dime then water them with 1 heaping tablespoon of high P bat guano. I use happy frog guano 0-5-0. This will give them a shot of P and start them flowering good. After 3 weeks into flower I make a Tea with Worm castings,1 slot glass Earth Juice Catalyst, 1 shot glass Kelp Meal, 1 shot glass blackstrap mollasas, 2 tablespoons bat guano 0-5-0 and 1 shot glass jurrasic acid (humic acid liquid) Fill your 5 gallon bucket with RO water or tap water that has been bubbling with a airstone for 24 hours to evaporate the chlorine. Either brew this in a room that is over 70 degrees or use a aquarium heater. You need a good amount of air and a good airstone for this to really get some good life going. The water will have a good head of brown foam when its ready. Should take about 30 - 40 hours. Now I like to cut this 50/50 with RO water and then drench the roots really good with it.

This tea works really well when used on Subcools supersoil type frows but should work good for your FFOF grow. Just dont get tempted to use this before week 3 flowering.

I am new to this source, and even though this is not marijuana related, was wondering if any of you had experience with container growing tomatoes outside? I am using Fox Farm Ocean for the first time in 10 gal. grow bags and typically would when using other container soils amend it - tomato/vegetable fertilizer, fish meal, bone meal, aspirin, crushed eggshells in the bottom 4 inch. layer. My question is, using Fox Farm Ocean should I do what I usually do when planting tomato plants? Thanks so much for your advice!

I just use ocean forest then feed every 3wks to a month. 444 all purpose or a fruit and vegetable fertilizer, mixed with worm castings and humic acid. I'll also give some organic waterings, fulvic acid, worm juice, fish poo, mycorrhizae, kelp, alfalfa, or silica. Grow some black krim if you haven't tried them. I don't like tomatoes plain I love those tomatoes. I'll also do foliar sprays either for nutrients or pests, mildew and diseases.
