One Week Till Election

Barely educated, Daniel began work as a farm laborer. At the start of the Revolution he joined the local militia. He rose to captain in the 5th Massachusetts Regiment of the Continental Army. Those who served with Shays recalled him as a brave soldier and a good officer.
In 1780 Shays returned to western Massachusetts, a region suffering economic dislocation from the war. The farmers were particularly hurt by the scarcity of money created by the decline of the state's shipping, fishing, whaling, and distilling industries and by the heavy taxes imposed to prosecute the Revolution. Shays suffered with his neighbors. Elected to local office, he was soon representing them in county conventions (between 1782 and 1786), at which petitions were drawn reciting the farmers' distress and demanding relief for debtors in the form of paper money, reduction in government expenditures, restraints on court and attorney fees, and suspension of debt executions. Though Shays managed to keep his farm, other farmers saw mortgage foreclosures take everything but the clothes off their backs. Debtors were imprisoned and even sold to work off their debts.
In 1786 farmers in western Massachusetts organized, took up arms, and forced the courts to suspend sessions.

ElBarto! You must be way low on info because you havent said anything I havent allready heard. None of that tells anyone who Obama is! Thats all regergitation from the main steam media! You obviously have no clue either. The guy could be president and thats all you got? We need real info! Thanks for any trys though!!

Well tell me Kushman, what information do you need to know in order to understand who a person is?

His stance on marijuana decriminalization? His drug history? His education? His religion? His hobbies? Job history? His family? His income for the last 10 years? A few hundred hours of video/audio documentation on almost every modern political issue? Stengths/Weaknesses? Travel records? Reasons why leaders like Powell or Buffet support him? Height and weight? Penis size? DNA sample? Seriously man, what else do you need to know?

In two days, he'll be the 2008 presidential election winner. If you can't grasp why someone who actually earned everything he has(scholarships, top academic achievements in this nation's top schools, a political career that started by working in communities, a wife that is essentially his equal) could win against someone who slacked through naval school, got himself shot down and held as a POW, then eventually pawned that off to create a career in politics, and left his sick first wife for someone who is essentially his equal.....dude, i cant help you.

Obama is an Illinois state senator, I live in Illinios, our marijuana penalties are just short of beheading in the town square. Good luck with that decriminalization idea.

That being said, the election massacre is tomorrow, I can't wait until it's over, talk about being sick to death of something !

Here in IL, the people voted yes, but congress hasn't. We said yes, they still say no, I guess I had things wrong, I thought they worked for us. Silly me......

Yes, from public servants to public masters. The founders forgot to put term limits in the US Constitution, and the people that drafted the various State Constitutions also forgot to put term limits.

You mean the text at the top which looks something like :

For the purpose of this act Person is defined as a dead person that is safely buried six feet under where their pot habit can not encourage further public consumption of this non-dangerous substance.
