i don't have a sodering pen/tool whatever which I'll need to finish the PSU.
talking about that, it's 750 watts, which I got from a used computer parts store around here, the guy that's building the rig directed me to it. it's got some wires still attached which i could probably pry off with some pliers or something but i don't want to fuck it up.
i don't want to ruin the parts either.... i don't have ANY spare cash whatsoever for the forseeable future, and someone older than me would probably say that i should've held off a bit due to my broke-ass situation.....
i still wanted a good computer and got it. it'll probably be my only christmas present too, so I don't want to be the one that ruins it.....
i talked to the guy today and he said he'd finish it in 1.5-2hrs tops. he's got killer references too. i went to his 'lab' apartment and he showed me his 'baby'.
16gb ram, i7-950 overclocked to 4.2ghz, liquid cooled, dual ATI 5970 video cards, 7 channel sound card, triple display...... he started crysis, gta4, and even flew a f-18 in new york in FSX Gold, max settings, and the thing didn't even get hot. the most stable system i've seen by far.
not expecting that kind of performance but he said what i got for the price range should kick photoshop, 3dsmax, and autocad in the ass..... so i'm pleased.
