Opinions on first BHO run.

Just wanted opinions on my 1st run. Did a qwiso run few weeks ago. Worked great but was a little dark. Tried the BHO yesterday and was super harsh so i "Re"purged it over 110-120 degree heat for about 2 or 3 hours. Product looks better but still harsh. Something else I can Do? Is the harshness possibly due to the strain? Or am I smoking Poison? Any input would be great. Thanks y'all and don't forget to call Mom and wish her a happy Mothers Day!

If you dont have a vac purge i strongly suggest winterizing it with either 190 everclear or 99.9% iso. The harshness is a combo of waxes and not being purged proper. Winterizing will take care of both.

thanks. ive only got about a cup of99% left. will that be enough for 2g winterized?

Harsh can be from retained solvent even high levels of terpenes. What was your complete process?

I ran 2 cans of fasfil 5x refined through a 8"glass tube. Stuffing about 30-35G on lower buds and sugar leaves collected from my trimmer. I pre trim so everything in Premo trim. mostly trich and red hairs. I ran in into a 8x8 or so pyrex dish already in a hot water bath. let sit for 30 min or so popping and stirring the bubbles. Let purge on a heat mat for an hour or so. Scrapped and collected. Waited till morning and tried product and about coughed my lungs out. After work I purged again on the dish for 3 hours at 120 Degrees. Let cool scraped and put onto parchment paper. Collected again this morning and this is what I came up with. What further process should be taken? Still harsh and don't feel it is safe. I appreciate all the help and feedback.

Second run.

You need a vacuum chamber! Why are all these people trying to purge without one. Unless you get a proper vacuum chamber and pump your never fully getting all the tane out. I don't care if you let it sit out for a year it ain't gonna fully purge out. BUY A VAC PUMP! So many people believe you don't need one but you do. And I'm not sayin you gotta go spend all kinds of money either! You can get really nice set ups on eBay for anywhere between $150-200

A cup of 99% would definitely be enough for 2 g's.
