opinions on roots and nutrients

hi growers
ive started a new grow to test out some nutrients that i haven't used before to see if this stuff stops staining my roots when growing in dwc. the nutrients are called CYCO PLATINUM SERIES GROW A & B

so far i have noticed my roots are more white then my past grows or at least not stained like they normally get from the other nutrients i was using canna

now my problem is my tap root is getting discolored to a off while brown. im struggling to decide if its normal discoloration because its exposed to air over the rest of the roots being under the water or if its the start of a pathogen eg rot forming. i personally don't think its rot as its not slimy or smelly but thought id post a pic and see what yous think.

i know all about the additive you can use to prevent rot from forming ( i prefer not using them if i dont have to) and i know all about temps ph and all that stuff so none of that is important to mention

ive never grow dwc with out my roots looking stained from the nutrients so now that i can dont have that problem im struggling to decide if my discoloration is normal.
the more i look at it the more i have my doubts on it normal

its are only 8 days old so roots are still tiny and my camera is shit but it still shows up

First off I don't do dwc but growing is growing so shouldn't you treat rockwool kind of like its dirt meaning you wet it it dries out some you wet it again. meaning you dont want it saturated 100% all the time. Causes issues dont it? Shouldn't the hydroton be on the bottom of the net pot. Just wanted to ask that but my eye caught how small the net pot is how do you grow in that wouldnt it grow and break the netpot. How do you grow in a small net pot and transfer it to a bigger net pot. You just growing small plants? Which is cool im just asking.

Also what bucket are you in? From the pic i get the impression that looks like some sort of chip dip container but it looks high up compared to the couch, it could be on a table idk.

Roots look fine but hydroguard is your friend in case you do get root issues.

i get 4 oz per plant 4ish ft tall in a 4 inch net pot but i will say you need to scrog with small net pots or the wait of the roots pull them though the bucket . hydroton on top or bottom makes no difference you dont even need it to be honest . its easy to remove the net pot and transplant it to a bigger container. just be careful not to rip root when lifting it out of the starter bucket. my profile pic is from my last from in the same 4 inch net pot so i wouldn't say my plants come out small 2x3ft scrog. i guess its normal discoloration. ill know in a week
