Opium poppy

You can grow them indoors. The light is opposit from weed, veg 12/12 and flower 24-7. You can then have something to harvest when your weed is not flowering. I just posted a topic in hallucinatory catagory of my indoor poppy grow(white persian, the same kind in American Gangster). I have also growen poppies from seeds I bought from my grocery store. The single plant is a white persian seedling.

oh my i've always loved smoking good opium. used to have a patch in my backyard a few summers ago. looks like i may have to start an indoor grow for the winter. do you have any more information about growing them?
 
does anyone know what outdoor conditions they need to grow, like time of year and so on. Im guessing spring to early summer?

i'm at 43 North
 
This is a great thread. Im definatley gonna grow some poppies. Which are the one's that you use to make morphine with again? I didn't quite get that one.
 
I believe pharmaceutical morphine is made synthetically, but from what I understand is you can take opium, and than extract morphine, codein, and heroine from it.

Thank you! Dont mean to come off as one of those people who don't read through a thread and adds there two sense at the end. It's just that there are so many different names being thrown out there. Papaver Somniferum <----so this it what I will be growing. Does any one know where to get the seeds to this kind or is buying them from ebay suitable?
