Options for making edibles for dispensaries

I'm looking into moving out to colorado in the near future and was just wondering if dispensaries will buy edibles from you? like if packaged and such. Im from connecticut where we dont have mmj so i dont really know much about how the system works. also another question, if i were to start it as a business of just making edibles would i be allowed to buy marijuana from growers? and does anyone know if there is even a market for edibles or is it pretty much covered aqlready?

In order to legally bake for a MJ store in Colo you have to belong to the store and have a kitchen that is health dept approved (like a restaurants kitchen) where the meds are made & a food handlers license

So I wouldn't be able to become an outside vendor or anything like that?

nope , not allowed anymore.

So what can you do then for money? I'm not trying to live off the money from marijuana, just make some to supplement my income

a) to own a dispensary/MIPS (edibles manufacturing license)/OPC (off premise grow) you need to be a CO resident for min 2yrs
b) to manufacture/sell MMJ edibles, you need a MIPs license. doesn't have to be connected to a dispensary (unlike the OPC, which does have to be owned by the dispensary)
c) the market is WAY over saturated with medibles.


personally, (unless you are set on CO. it IS a rockin state) i'd be looking at what other state laws will be hitting the ballots soon and consider hitting one of those earlier on to get a foothold. the market here was oversaturated 2 years ago.

I always wanted to move there so I'm pretty set on Colorado. I like to cook and such so I was just wondering if there was an opportunity for me to make some money with my 2 favorite things (weed and cooking).

the residency thing only bars you from ownership. you can still get a workers permit to work at a MIPS/MMC/OPC. but then again, it's also 'who you know' if looking for work in the industry.

GL, CO is awesome
