5 seeds sprouted and are Regular.

According to the local farm, regular seeds are more hardy in their genetic line compared to feminised, which may stand to reason. Let’s wait and see.


Light: Timber Grow Lights Vero v7 redwood, went with no lenses on the Cob’s for ^Intensity, plenty of coverage to work with in a 5x5. You all know what seedlings look like, no need to zoom in

Currently light is 24” above pots and dimmed to lowest setting.


Fan: 240 Cfm 6” duct fan with carbon filter.


Pots and Soil:

STARTpot: 4 x (0.3L) air pots. 1xplastic cup

Bottom quarter—FF ocean forest

Mid quarter—OF:LightWarrior 2:1 mix

Top half: Light Warrior:OF 2:1 mix, LW layer on top. Germinated seeds in top LW layer.


ENDpot: 4 x (6L) Hercules pot. Similar to air pot but sturdier, it is the lonely upside-down base pot in my picture.

Bottom THIRD—Nature’s Living Organics SuperSoil (subcool’s tweaked version) also on Amazon. Mixed at a rate of 1/lb for 1.5-2 gallons of Ocean Forrest, which is kinda hot. If you know what I mean. And then a 4:1 ocean Forrest light warrior mix on top. For this pot, plants will be mature.


Will be implementing Co2 when they reach ~5 nodes, and documenting strategies for gas containment with room sealing tactics.

Will be using the SCROG technique down the road, at a heightened canopy level. I use a stretchy Cargo Net, like the ones in trunks of cars. Get one to fit your tent so it just barely stretches.

I have a 4x6 that works great for a 5x5 tent, with some slight manipulation to stretch. Comes with easy plastic hooks that have a hole straight down their center. I place my tent poles through the clip hole when setting up my tent, that way it’s ready and secure. You could also use zip ties, Which come in handy with SCROG anyway

Big update, I installed the co2 system now that the plants are almost a week old, the tent is now sealed at all seems with gorilla tape. I am worried about RH%, but for now it rests comfortably at 50%, and I let the temperature bump to 81 degrees. Dont worry, Co2 runs while I am away at school, only while lights are on. The monitor mainatains safe 1100 ppm of co2. I don’t spend much time in my room except to sleep anyway.
The grow room itself has also been sealed to control leakage, for that I used weather stripping and a door sweep I had to screw into the door. To my surprise, after totally sealing my grow room and sleeping in it all night, the co2 ppm was already 900 upon installing the autopilot sensor with probe. I myself generate enough co2 symbiotically with my plants to create an almost perfect environment, which means I will be using almost NO Co2 whatsoever. With that also being said, I am sleeping with the door open from now on, all windows in my apartment cracked. Big time.

Day 8, plants like it outside. I’m headed to get my humidifier, dialing in on Co2 temperature and humidity tonight, doing a little closed loop experiment. Results to follow on that.

Good news: Serious growth, closed loop Co2 huge success, constant temp and humidity. 79-77F 70-75%humidity. 1000-1200 ppm Co2.
Bad news: My tent now smells like manure.
Mixed up nature’s living organic super soil, it smells like pure poop. That’s good though, and the closed loop hides the smell with a filter.

It’s also interesting to note I am comparing FF Ocean Forrest to FF Strawberry Fields. One of the pots is Srawberry soil and the other 2 Ocean Forrest.

For anyone interested this is the Co2 difference. You can see new leaves develop over 24 hours, and plants aren’t even large enough to take full advantage of my Co2 supplementation yet. Look at his/her 2nd set of true fan leaves push out. Happy guysor gals. In the two smaller pots I added Cali’s Humboldt Diesel just under 2 weeks behind. Oregon Diesel Plants have been topped, day 20. At Day 21 They are recovering well, new foliage should start to go vertical tomorrow. Humbold diesel lags about 2 weeks behind but is growing quickly.

Day 36, just made the flip to flowering. Good news is, the three big oregon diesel bushes are all female. Cant wait for the stretch. The 2 smaller feminized humboldt diesels are about 2.5 weeks behind and will not be topped, so theyll be small but smelly testers for a full run. I have so many seeds to grow, I’m just getting started. Alien og, Moby dick, critical 2.0, sour diesel, frost boss, blue dream, holy grail kush and blue magoo. I really want to take a whack at outdoor next year when I rent a house here in Portland.

Male down, male down. One Tardis plant showed male 48 hours after light flip. I was wrong about the pre flowers on...HIM luckily humboldt diesel LOVES the extra space and has picked up. 4 lovely ladies are smelling gassy now 3 days into flower day 43. Oregon Diesel vs Humboldt Diesel is still on! Doing some extra defoliating tonight, I’m going for maximum bud sites

It has come to the point I have to zip tie the main bi-branches from the topping. I will only defoliate leaves as I see them covering major bud sites now. Buds are developing very quickly on Tardis, peep the 24 hour change on those zoom shots of the same bud site. The flowering time for tardis is average 56 days while humboldt diesel requires 63-70... early harvest for those girls but I’m making Rosin anyway

Failed to water before leaving for vegas, slight stress but perked right up. Some yellowing, hopeful stoner knowledge tells me some stress may drive flowering faster. Anyway its getting frosty, wish I could post smells. Oregon diesel smells like sweet but sour candy, really aromatic and a little gassy. Humboldt diesel is very gassy and gives off some sour smell.

Turning Purple, that’s a frosty Oregon Diesel bud, estimating 10-14 days left based on cloudy trichs.

The white light seemed to have a super positive effect on my growing compared to my old chinese LED. The next thing I’m experimenting with are 4 foot tube lamps that are pure UV lights. I’ll be adding these to the timber and switching them on and off with a separate timer during flower. You can get them from a company called solarcure and they are highly reputable. Basic science denotes there will be a big increase in trichmes.

Thanks, I got tardis at Lifted Northwest Dispo in Portland, OR. You can buy it online at a few seedbanks if you google it, but it’s a bit less known I believe. Seems like a great strain, is said to produce some THCV.

Smoke report on a 3 day jar cure, 2 week whole plant dry at 68 F 65% RH. Yes 3 day cure, I had to test a baby bud.
The flavor seems amazingly good for my first organic run, compared to my synthetic grow I’m very impressed with organics and relying on bacteria and fungi with soil to produce nutrients. The high was great on Just a small bowl, it got stronger as time went on and peaked 30 minutes in with a long lasting clear headed high. I attribute this to the THCV that is said to be produced by oregon diesel. OR diesel has a flavor like sweet grapes that ends with earthy tones, and a sweet gassy aroma to match. It is very pleasant to smoke to say the least, incredible smoothness, which could be due to organic growth. I will test humboldt later today and we will know.
I will say I am disappointed I did not top humboldt diesel as it produced some seriously fat buds, but not as many as oregon who was 2.5 weeks older. I suppose I would choose OR diesel based on aroma, flavor and effect and a shorter flower time. Humboldt seems to be a heavy producer and strains were equally highly resinous with glittery trichomes, although humboldt was under developed due to time constraints. Humboldt also supposedly can produce 25-27% thc while oregon is typical at 18-23% with more variation.

I love that light, I looked at it numerous times before buying my setup.

Being a newb I decided to go mh/hps (cheaper) route for now, hoping to get through a couple grows and then maybe shell out the bigger bucks for a timber.
