Oregon Outdoor Grow 2013

This is my 1st attempt at an outdoor grow since I was like 16 trying to do it in the woods behind my parent's house. We didn't really plan on doing an outdoor grow this year. But my landlord finally found out about my indoor operation in the spare bedroom after doing it successfully for 4 years. So we had to move everything out to a friends house until I find a more 420 friendly landlord. Luckily this friend lives on some secluded property, so we decided what the hell... let's go for an outdoor. We had some plants in the ground since May 1st. But some of them triggered into flowering early. So we replaced them. Most of the other plants have been in ground since June 1st. But some of them have only been in ground since early July. Location is Oregon's Willamette Valley just south of Salem. Plants are in nothing but native soil. For nutrients we rotate each week between top dress, compost tea, and straight water. Any advice from experienced outdoor growers is more than welcome. More vids to come as the season goes on.

Strains are:
Chem Soda (black cherry soda x chemdog d)
Cinex
Purple Diesel
Double Purple Doja
Insane Urkel
Headband
Grape Ape
Diesel
Purps
God Bud
Jedi
Sour Diesel
White Widow
Black Cherry Soda
Blue Dream
Blue Doggy Dogg (blue magoo x chemdog d)

Keep us posted on the grow -- they all look great. I am LOVING this summer sunshine stuff -- so much cheaper than running my lights inside. I'm in Willamette Valley also, and just noticed this week that my Super Silver Hazes are starting to flower already! I wasn't expecting that until mid August (this is my first outdoor grow as well). Surprise surprise, with some internet research, I found that some strains can flower with only 10 hours of darkness. Works out perfect cause I might make it all the way thru flowering before hitting the expected frost date (possibly October 20th). Lemme know when your ladies start flowering, I'm curious to see if you get some more early birds.

I was just stalking CruzinPenguin, and ran into your vids. May I just say, well played, Sir. ::Subbed::

Thanks to everybody who stopped by this thread. Flowering is just around the corner now. I stopped by the garden to give the plants some Open Sesame (to promote more bud sites). And this is what they looked like on August 1st. The Jedi was triggered into flowering sometime in June. And it looks like it will revert back to veg just in time for flowering to begin again. The reason why we didn't replace it is because one of our patients requested this strain. Blue Doggy Dogg was pulled out of our indoor flowering room before we moved it outdoors. It was flowering for 7 days when we put it in the ground. But it looks like it will revert back to veg just in time for flowering to start again as well. The stress of having to revert back to veg will definitely affect the yields. But I couldn't do anything about the Jedi. And I just had to see what the BDD did outside, lol.

Here's the latest video. Flowering has started and the plants are currently doing the August stretch.

Plants are just now entering either their 3rd or 4th week of flowering. The stretching phase is over and most of the plants' energy is now being focused on bud production. I'm giving them some compost tea today, and again next week to help with bud production. Plants have gotten HUGE during the August stretch. And the white widow is back to normal after we did some misting to keep it cool during this heat wave that we've been experiencing lately. We are hoping the weather cools down soon, so heat stress won't be a problem as the widow starts producing buds.

Keep the vids coming I would like to follow your grow.
Cool man, I'll check your grow and vid out. I don't think my purps is the clone only Mendo. It was donated by a patient and I have no idea where he sourced it from. But I figured the real deal purps woulda been further along by now. So I kinda had a feeling mine was not the Mendo.

Here's a video from September 7th. You can finally see some buds on some of them. Double Purple Doja is showing purple traits already. While the Purple Diesel and Black Cherry Soda are still only showing hints of color. We also had a really rainy day this last week. But the plants dried out shortly after the storm passed, and the summer weather is back for at least another week. We are getting ready to cover the plants with reinforced visqueen plastic as soon as it cools down a bit more. We still have some hot 90 degree days left.
