8-11" thats a good hight, i was flowering mine @ 4" but im gonna try to veg to 8" this time... since i have them dimmable ballasts if i have heat issues @ 1k then i can just lower to 750w or even 600w it they grow to fast...
That's a damn good idea.

How much more would you get doubling the height of your plants in veg? That would be a cool comparison too reggae :)

Maybe I'll pop a seed about 3 weeks before flipping to 12/12 and flower some at 4-5"
If you wanted to do something like that I would cut clones put them under fluro tubes or CFL's give em week or so to root and throw them in flowering I'm attaching some pictures small one is a clone I took and then later pictures is 3-4 weeks later in flowering it was damn near the size of my mother (mothers on left with clone on the right next to it) it was great.

Interesting. The clone caught up quickly. Much quicker than I had thought.

well lets see; the average i would get from a 4" to flower was about 1/4oz per plant so im hoping for 1/2oz from a 8"?? doable yes???
Knowing this, I will be giving mine til the taller end of the spectrum. 11" and then flower.

Yep it's amazing. This time around I'm doing 2 mother plants going to cut 25 clones each go around root them and throw them straight into flowering room. You can also use smaller pots/buckets this way because the root system are fairly small considering the plants don't veg long at all.

That was going to be my question. So I assume, once thrown into flower, the root system is pretty much fully extended and won't grow much more?

That's how it worked out for me. Also I was going to say my clone finished product was actually better than the mother in my opinion. Maybe because the mother did go through some stress but it yielded only 6 grams less than the mother. As you can see in the picture above it didn't really have grow shoots just budded straight up the stalk on the clone.

I like what you're saying more and more. I'm thinking this may be the way to go then. Hope for 3/6 to be female. Decide on the best two females. Clone the shit out of them. Root for 10-14 days in medium size bots. Flip to flowering.

Also friends, I got a job. Just had my first day of work today. Did some product training, got some free garb, and pretty psyched to finally have a job again.

Also, I FIM'd one of mine last night. How long should I expect until I begin to see the two branches form from the spot where the cut was made?

Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and you have to rely on things you wouldn't have thought would be supporting you. But it's a dog eat dog world, and you gotta do what you know. Best of luck. Glad to have you onboard for my grow. You have a journal I could peep?

I'm getting ready to start one. been dealing with spider mites on my young clones but hit em with a Dr. Doom fogger and been treating with azamax so should be under control soon. I have 2 female clones and one seedling(of blue mystic feminized seed. These are going to be my mother plants. I'm considering maybe doing a SOG grow this time as I want to grow around 25 clones to throw into flowering. This is my third indoor grow and I grew 1 plant outside before.

My plants responded very fast after I topped and FIM'd. I was actually trying to top and ended up with a FIM'd plant.

Congrats on the job. I have an interview tomorrow so hopefully all goes well. I'll smoke a fatty for you if I don't have a drug test coming up.

I need to look into the difference between topping and FIM'ing again, I'm all kinds of confused right now. I just confused supercropping with lollipopping in another thread; my lingo must be outta whack today.

Best of luck on the job interview. I started a thread a couple weeks back about interview tips, and there are some helpful tidbits in there if you want to check out my past started threads. Is it something you would enjoy doing? I am pretty happy at my new job, and am pretty happy about that!

There's alot of lingo and slang that I still need to get used to, too.

I'd be happy with this job if I were to get it. I've had jobs in the past that I couldn't stand but kept anyway to pay bills, etc. I'm checking your thread now, thanks for the help.

I know the feeling, in the end, a job is a job. No problem, hope you get it.
