Hi all,

This is my 2nd run top dressing with Dr Earth. 1st run was AMAZING, but sadly this time week 4 of flower I'm seeing pre mature fading aka likely not enough nutes. I think I may have top dressed a bit too late this time and messed up.

How long does organic top dressings usually take to truly be soaked up by the plant? Wondering if I should finish off with some GH bottle nutes. What would you do?

About a week or so....when I top dress, I also add a bit of new soil then mix in the amendments and ewc as one mixed layer on top and water in with a splash of kelp...my thinking is the soil and kelp can aid in some way while the other stuff breaks down. Just don't do anything drastic. This is only a slight hicup.

Gotcha...Im not panicking lol I learned my lesson doing that my first run ever and screwed it up. I added a top layer of FFOF and some EWC as well. Just seems I may have underfed them? I do 1tbs per gal of soil.

That is good...I bumped up my ewc to 4tblspn per gallon...probably overkill but I fucked my last yield by underfeeding and trying to play catch-up...I ended up starting my topdress like 4 weeks late. Totally fucking spaced it.

I find it better to top dress early, if you are seeing deficiencies it's probably too late for your top dress to fix the problem, by the time the stuff becomes accessible the problem is real bad and you limp to the finish line, with reduced yields. at least that's my experience so far. But I'm no expert by any means

I make a super soil and it just plain works. Nothing but water, and every 2-3 weeks a nicely aerated organic floral tea, no limping. Must add that my own fresh EWC is top dressed and mulched in my finish containers. Good Growin'...

Hey, thats a problem i've had, one tbps per gallon can be too little for some plants, poor one cup of the flower girl nutrients in a one gallon water jug, let it sit for 24 hours, top dress another full tbsp per gallon of medium, and water in the tea slowly. You need to make sure your soil needs water and is going to take the tea, your pot has to be kinda dry, so make sure you time the 24hr tea brewing with the watering, don't brew the tea for more than 24hours

i feel like maybe the top feeding gets eaten faster when they are "feeder roots" at the top layer of soil, i also feel like the feeder roots grow there because this is where the nutrients are, when i remove the roots and soil from the pot after harvest, there is a bunch of roots at the top and i think it's cause the top feed makes 'em grow there
