Use it as a side dressing, just outside the shadow of the plant at high noon.
The manure will break down into the soil with a little water, and as the plant grows, the roots will find the dissolved nutes.
The nute ratio(4-2-2) is about perfect for vegetative growth.
It is possible to overfeed with chicken manure. That's why I suggest placing it just outside the root area.
