Today is Dec 1st, Day 23 of flowering... The RH today is way low...around 15% so again my ladies are stressed due to the low humidity and they going into "drought mode" and keeping the stomata's closed to prevent drying out... I have managed to bring my RH up to the 20% range with the addition of a humidifier however it is still very low for the plant's liking... I added additionally a large bowl of water to aid in raising the humidity as well as flushed the ladies really good today with distilled water...allowing the runoff to flood the inside of my tent...hopefully this standing water will evaporate and help raise my RH of the tent.... we will see...

Other than the flushing and addition of water to raise the RH, everything else looks good! The OG's are the ones that seem to be suffering the most from the low humidity however the XJ-13 seems to be uneffected....this may be due to the XJ-13 having a very waxy feel to the leafs, vs the dryer feel of the indica leafs...

Here are the photo's for today, some of the close up's will show the leaf browning, burning and brown tips due to lack of proper humidity... I checked soil PH yesterday and all pots are sitting around 6.5-6.8ph...

Day 25 Flowering, Dec 3rd...

Well the dry spell is just about over...tomorrow is supposed to be around RH of 50% which will give my ladies a much needed break from this desert dryness. Today in my tent with humidifier on full and wet towel hung, I still can't manage to break 25% RH on the gauge... The ladies seem to now have gotten over there initial shock and have begun to get used to the dryness, but still I know it is stunting them quite a bit with the stess.

I supercropped a bunch of the tallest cola's/tops to help stress the lower budsites to grow more rapidly as well as give better light distribution to the cola's. I did this last grow and it made a very large difference on the lower buds, making them almost resemble tops the way they grew so thick....hopefully I can replicate those same results...

The ladies are really filling out even with the low humidity, and the XJ-13 and Kali Kandi are already packing some fat nugs!! The holy grail seems to be pretty leafy at this time for the buds, but still very full of trichomes and thickening as well..

My OG101's are really impressing me, not showing too much heat/low humidity stress, lots of trichomes, and the nugs are really starting to swell up, with very frosty edges forming on the sugar leafs...

I am quite impressed with how things are goin, hopefully the ladies will start taking up some of this water with the next few days of rising humidity..

Today is Flowering day 27 and things are really looking great! The desert dry spell is now over for the next few days and today it should be around 30%RH so hopefully my ladies will start growing quickly again and begin uptaking water like normal. My pots are still pretty moist and should be a few day's before a watering.

Yesterday I gave another pretty heavy defoliation to the ladies removing any damaged fans and any fans that were either not receiving good lighting or that were blocking any lower budsites from light. I was careful not to (unless damaged) remove any fans counting from the cola down 4 leafs...as a grower buddie of mine suggested... This gave them much more breathing room for the air to penetrate thru the canopy as well as light...and many more new budsites were exposed..

So far there are many trichomes forming on all 4 strains and the buds are really thickening up and looking impressive.. I hope to at least achieve the same if not better yield this time around.. shooting for 1.5lbs but we will see..

Will be running to the hydro store this week to pick up more EJ catalyst and micro because I am out.... might also look into an organic B vitamin supplement but also with $$ being tight..we will see..

Here are today's photo's

Full tent views... Looking at tent Front left and Front right are OG101's, Middle front and back are Holy Grail OG's, Back right is Kali Kandi (chocolope x OG101) and Back Left is the XJ-13

Day 29 Flowering, Dec 7th...

Well the dryspell is still around but Ive managed to keep the RH around 25% even with the air at less than 10% right now by running my humidier on full blast as well as hanging 2 wet towels in my tent, directly in front of my fan, as well as a large towel hanging in my apartement by my door. The ladies now have pretty much gotten used to the dryspell and have continued to fill out and bud quite nicely, except my Holy grail OG's which seem to still be quite stunted and growing slowly...

I checked the soil and it still is reading saturated on the lower 1/2 of the smartpots so I am going to hold off for the next 2 days to water them or until they start sucking up water fast again...

Other than the humidity stress, the ladies are looking really good, there fragrences are amazing and they are developing lots of trichomes at this point.

I took some cuttings of my Holy grail og and a few of my OG101's back a few weeks ago, threw them in a double shotglass with distilled water and olivias cloning solution, and I am suprized that still 2-3 weeks later they are alive, green and healthy looking. I went to the store and bought more root riot organic pods for cloning with some clonex and put these babies in some soil pods. I dont really know if they will take off or not, because they were taken around week 2 of flowering...so I believe it may be too late...but really not sure...just didn't want to waste the lower branches while lollypopping...
We will see how they do in there humidity dome, with heat pad...

Here are the photo's of the ladies today..DSC03343.jpgDSC03340.jpgDSC03345.jpgDSC03346.jpgDSC03342.jpgDSC03344.jpgDSC03341.jpg

Tonight I gave the ladies a medium foliar feeding just before my light's went out for the evening as well as shot a few photo's of the clone's I planted and shot's of the girl's with only the MH on for better color.

The foliar feeding was eyeballed but I mixed 4 cups of distilled water with:

all estimated amounts..

H2 humic acid...about 5ml
F1 fulvic acid...about 5ml
Earthjuice Catalyst about 2 ml
Earthjuice Microblast, about 2-4 ml
General Organics BioWeed (cold pressed seaweed) about 1ml

Here's the beauty photos of the ladies..

Clone's of OG101's and holy grail OG

Today the ladies got a good feeding...

fed them the bubbled Earthjuice tea today and the temps and humidity were perfect for the ladies to get back to normal for growing.. temps were in the low 70s and RH was at 40% today...

my mix consisted of

In 4.5 gallons of distilled water I mixed up:

Earthjuice:
Grow 120ml
Bloome 60ml
Micro 40ml
Catalyst 40ml
MetaK 35ml

Advanced Nutrients:
H2 Humic acid 40ml
F1 Fulvic acid 30ml
Liquid carboload: 10ml

General Organics:
Cal/Mag 40ml

Unsulfured Molasses about 2 tbsp...eyeballed as usual

I also switched out my 400w MH back over to the 400w HPS Ushio because after taking a good look at the growth of the tent it seemed that the Hps side was much thicker buds with the same amount of trichome production... So I will most likely run the dual HPS for a good 2-3 weeks and then when the ladies are getting closer to finish time, I will throw the MH back in... I know that I've switched back and forth a ton this grow, but I haven't quite been happy with my setup... Ideally I would like another lumatek 600 dial a watt with a hps so i could run both of the 600s in the flower, and use the 400 for a veg tent...but that will hopefully be soon...

Other than that nothing was done to the ladies besides sitting back and admiring them...

Here are the photo's for today, Day 31 Flowering..

Today is Day 35 of flowering, Dec 13th.

A few day's ago I placed an order for a Phillips Mastercolor 400w Ceramic Metal Halide bulb and it should arrive within this week. I decided that I wanted a MH bulb with a more even output, with UV output as well as High in the red area and this bulb seemed to be the key for a well rounded spectrum. My ushio 400wMH conversion has superior blue end of the spectrum compared to all other bulbs I researched and I will continue to use the Ushio for veg, however for flower it was a bit weak on the red spectrum....so for flowering I will use the CMH and for veg the MH Ushio...

Here is the spectrum chart for the Ushio MH

and as you can see the Phillips CMH has a more even sunlight spectrum...similar in the blue region but much fuller in the red..
(left photo is CMH)

Other than the lighting, temps have been pretty cool as well as the humidity sitting between 28%-35% which for flowering I couldn't be happier.

The girls are really filling out and thickening up as well as displaying tons of trichomes...

Should be giving them a good feeding within the next few days, seems that they are uptaking water pretty quickly now...

Day 37 of flowering!! Dec, 15th....

Today I fed the ladies some pre bubbled nutrients...

The mix was bubbled for over 24 hours..

4.5 gallons of distilled water with

Earthjuice:
Grow 120ml
Bloom 65ml
catalyst 40ml
metak 35ml
microblast 40ml

General Organics:
Cal/Mag... I read that you can 2x the doses with calmag so I used 1.5 times at 60ml

Advanced Nutrients:
H2 Humic acid 40ml
F1 Fulvic acid 30ml
Im out of liquid carbo load or I would have added it

Unsulfured molasses about 1 tbsp
Naked Brand fruit smoothy, Blue machine... about 30ml

My ladies are looking pretty healthy, but my front right OG101 and my back left XJ-13 are showing a lot of yellowing fan leaves which looks kind of like a N deficiency, however I have been using very large doses of Earthjuice grow so I am not quite sure what is causing the yellowing. I checked the soil with my soil probe and all pots were sitting under 7ph...generally around 7.6-7.8. I will have to keep a close eye on the ladies and see what happens...

Otherwise things are looking really good.

Today is Day 38 of Flowering and things are looking pretty good.

I received my Ceramic Metal Halide by mail today and it really seems to be about the same brightness as my Ushio 400w MH, but has a much fuller red end of the spectrum, rivals and even surpasses that of a HPS, as well has an extended UV end for helping to increase trichome production. I have high hopes for this light, as many have happily stated that it makes a significant difference.

I also did a very heavy defoliation to the girls, (you will see in the photos with HPS ON) to help the light reach the lower bud sites as well as help focus most of the energy to the buds. A grower buddie of my suggested to remove all fan leaves lower than 4 counts down....so I removed all large fans, leaving only the top ones, along with the lower sugar leafs...

Much better airflow now thru the tent, more even tempeture between the top of the tent and below the canopy.

Other than that, the plants seem to be doing great today!!

Day 41 flowering, Dec 19th....

Wow, what a difference with this new Ceramic metal halide bulb....after just a few days running I already notice a significant difference in the amount of trichomes forming as well as a huge difference in the amount of bud swelling taking place on that side of the tent, vs before, where growth under the Ushio MH was much slower in the flowering state...

Other than that not much has been done the last few days besides admiring there beauty, they really are starting to stink quite a bit and with my carbon scrubbers and makeshift DIY odor box, the smell seems to remain in the tent unless its opened.

My XJ-13 still seems to be showing quite a bit of yellowing in the mid to lower fan leaves and I find it hard to believe its a N deficiency because of the high regiment of earthjuice Ive been feeding, as well as the soil sitting within the healthy 6.8ph range...not too sure whats wrong with her...will just have to keep nursing her and see what happens...

Here are the photo's for today,

Today is Day 42 of flowering, can't believe how thick and frosty the girls are getting. Each time I open my tent I am reminded how strong these og's are, litereally the smell slaps me in the face!!
I love there stink!!

Mixed up 5 gallons of distilled water today to put on bubble for 48 hours. The ladies are getting pretty dry, but not yet showing wilting leaves, so I figure 2 days from now they will be nice and thirsty. I purposely am letting the soil dry out more than usually because I have been read that constant but low impact stress on the ladies in flower will increase resin flow, therefore helping to increase potency.

My mix..

5 gallons of distilled water:

Earthjuice:
Grow 140ml
Bloom 70ml
Metak, 50ml
catalyst 50ml
micro 40ml

Advanced Nutrients
H2 humic acid, 50ml
F1 fulvic acid, 40ml

General Organics
Cal/Mag, 60ml

Naked Blue machine fruit smoothy, approx 20ml (sugars, b-vitamins)
Green Coconut water, approx 20 ml... (sugars, potassium, lots of macro/micro nutrients)

Until I see 1/3 to 1/2 amber on most...
Whoa you like them kinda heavy then huh? 1/3 - 1/2 amber I would expect a lot of THC to have broken down to CBN which makes u sleepy. Some people like bud that way tho, so I say to each their own. Personally I chop when I see about 10% amber but I also use the hairs, calyx swelling, and past grow experience to make the final decision.
