Bonzai Sativa


Whole Grow (Notice the 48" 4100K t12 tubes, added 1 week ago)

Failed to mention that I started playing with Lemon juice in the water to raise Ph since about 3 weeks ago and cut the sulfur around the same time.

Thanks bro! I treat the girls super bad and even torture them by burning them with the lights (not intentional) o.0. I'm calculating that I'm @ 14 or near 14 weeks into flower already! *sigh* These sativas take FOREVER!!! But, I KNOW I'm going to enjoy these stinky ass bitches and I'm going to try and get the trichs to one or a couple of amber heads per macro. If these plants start turning evenly as they are now, then I'll cut when they are a day or so from being completely milky. There's a cola or two with mostly milky and very little clear on the Stinky Green but I'm reluctant to cut them off yet because I'm thinking they will get bigger soon. The colored pistils is from me touching them I think and killing them off early.

I'll post pics of macros for the other 2 plants tomorrow. Thanks for checking in. discrepancy

Edit: I just noticed that the dates do not coincide with the actual day the pictures were taken. I'm going to fix the date on the camera for the next shots.

Yeah man..they look awesome! I burn mine sometimes with the lights to...bu they recover pretty good. 14 weeks is not tooooo long for what your gonn have to smoke...im about ot order a pack of Pure Haze...14weeks min flower time..sometimes up to 16-17 lol but the high is killer.

Bonzai Sativa


I'm going to cry! This grow is taking a long ass time! That's what I get for messing with Sativa strains though ^_^

EDIT: I'm going to kill this thread when it's all over and done with and I will be giving the public some choices to help me through the next mystery grow, starting with a selection of choice seeds I get from the local "commercial" grows.

One more thing, I forgot to focus on the other greens in my lil garden:

Clone from Bonzai Sativa that has been stunted and doomed to the bottom corner of the T12 tubes. The sole survivor of the clones that were either given away, hermied or just died... So small that I tend to forget that it's there and water it just because it IS there. Don't think for a second that when it's done that I'm going to throw it in with the mother plant, no no; I am going to smoke Mini-me first ^_^ GET IN MY LUUUUNGS!!! (belly)



XW (Mystery X weed) and Big Magenta on 12/12 since seedlings (as seen in earlier posts): So Big Magenta, what can I say about this plant? I'm disappointed that it's mainly a sativa (long ass flowering time) and isn't as prominent as my XW plant, but for being the smaller and more Sativa dominant than the XW , it has preflowers on the main stem as well as a couple of lateral shoots now and the lateral shoots are really long for the age of the plant. That is due to low light conditions and will be getting much more attention soon as soon as my grow area clears (If it clears in time).

The XW plant is really Indica dominant from top to bottom with fat leaves but taller than my Sativa plant that sprouted the same time and with the same treatment. I'm sure it's a cross breed that took the height from a Sativa plant and no signs of sex yet other than crossed stipules on the top nodes (not reliable but plausible). The Indica part of this plant is evident in it's broad leaves and purple color running up and down the stem (Unless it's due to temperature that has not dropped bellow 70 F and above 85 F with lights on).

I was really high when i wrote that lol...what i meant was sometimes yul find fatter leaf plants in a sativa strain..i had a C-99 plant that had wider leaves.....and the A-11 im growing has wider type leaves for a sative as well....sometimes you find shorter wider plants in the same strain to.

Yw Well whatever it is, it had me nauseous today (no lie) when I was going through it (Stinky Green) with a fine tooth comb. The smell is INCREDIBLE! I have not smelled anything like this since 1996-1997 when I was living in Anchorage Alaska (92-04). Not even the commercial stuff in the fields out here smell close to my SG. I wonder if it's genetics or treatment? I used to get Blueberry, NL and WW all day long. I think it was the WW that reminds me of this smell. It's so thick! Mustier than a live skunk, I kid you not! To be honest, I have never lingered and played with my girls since the flowering phase started and let me tell you; You know that super skunk smell that gets on you and lingers on your skin? The kind that you take a deep whiff and swear you still smell it on your nose 5 minutes later? The kind that makes your stomach turn a little because it's so potent? DAMN BRO! That's what's going on here o.0 I wish I had smellavision bro, I would share real quick and get people jealous... I feel like a little kid again with a Nintendo in the gift box on my 7th B-day ^_^

The Bonzai Sativa smells a little like skunk but it has a fruitier smell to it. I can't put my finger on it until cure I guess.

#4 Smells just like the big plant but it has more of a more citrus than the SG.

In order of fave to least is: 1. SG, 2. "#4", 3. Bonzai Sativa; The real test in the smoking part.

Yeah dude i know jus what you mean....when i trim my C99 plants i almost get sick from the smell cuz its strong........my guess to that stinky plant would be Oaxacan maybe? or Oaxacan cross maybe...it has that dank sweet taste/smell and is a family member of Blueberry ....haha im already jelous a lil bit and i aint got smell-o-vision LOL

Thanks brother! Hey, I want your opinion. you've been paying close attention to the thread. If these were your girls, when would you harvest? They are still growing and right when I think I see cloudy/amber, it's the clear trichs that are messing with my eyes and reflecting off of the brownish pistils. There are quite a bit of milky trichs everywhere but also clear ones and the occasional amber trich but only the small glandular ones that are tiny and have probably been around since the start of the birth of that specific calyx. I would say that I have a 60/40 or 65/35 ratio of Cloudy/Clear. When I thought they were about close to being done, they keep growing and by the looks of the type of plant it is, I don't know how fast these trichs might change. I'm aiming at all milky and no Amber in the big glandular ones. Thanks ^_^

Hey bro....after 17 coranas heres my opininon

from the sativa ive grown..i noticved going by trichs is never 100%....i look at the pistils and how much color they have(dark not white anymore) and i look at the buds...if yyur seeeing the odd amber right now id harvest them. Gotta remember that the trichs will continue to ripen after you cu that plant down...with my C-99 and A-11 i harvest when i see mostly cloudy and the odd amber..the smooke is always just right then for me....the full sativa potential

you can always cut a nug off and test it.....thats how i found the perfect time for my C-99

Cool bro! Thanks for the advice. I just chopped off 3 of the top part of the biggest colas on the Bonzai, 4 from #4 and 1 medium cola from the SG that wasn't letting much light go through to the lower buds. Not very high yield on the Bonzai and #4 because I overdid it with the Super Cropping. I think I bent the stems too much and hurt overall production. I'll never SC again for sure unless it is a must!

I smoked the colas I cut off and they are pretty decent but not potent enough yet. I held in the smoke and I kinda blacked out (old skool 7 second rule when low on goods) while holding the smoke but came back slowly with a deftone ear but was gone for a few minutes until it settled and had a decent buzz for an hour. No hard crash and no headache... I don't think it was the trichs because they were kinda clear and not solid white (the blacking out). This was on all plants I have.

Taste report: #4 and SG are very similar in flavor and taste. Not too heavy on the resin yet but a very promising smoke. If you've smoked skunk, then you know what we have going on here @ a 50% maturity level. Not too bad but not too good. When it fully matures, then I will know.

The Bonzai was a little crisper in flavor with more of a citrus smell and the flavor was a little less resinous than the other 2.

A heavy green taste on all 3 that stays in the mouth for a while but all are pretty smooth for a 2 day cure on my PC's Video Card and heavy gaming (around 57C on the surface).

I say these plants are good for another month under the light because new calyxes are forming on the tops day by day and no change in trichomes. Would my light setup be suspect for the long flower and trichome maturity (mostly 4300K & 4100K) or Genotype is suspect, or both?

Conclusion: I can wait because I am not satisfied and these plants are not even close to maturity.

Damn! You're going to at the smell of that strong odor I want to see that grow. You have to keep me posted ^_^...

I'm dying for a dual spectrum HPS but I'll go crazy with the sound of the ballast because I grow in my bedroom. I wish there was a 3000K Xenon 55W bulb (there are claims for Halogen being "Xenon" but that is all trash). Nice light output, no noise with Automotive 12V setup (4 kits @ $50 U.S. each would do the trick ) and it's very cool compared to big 120V HID systems + the lights can be evenly distributed for maximum light dispersion and penetration.

I'll definitely get a 400W setup someday for a perpetual grow but meanwhile, I'll be the noob on this forum ^_^. I did however prove that a 4300K Xenon kit can flower cannabis with the aid of minimal CFL. I have the 48" tubes (don't really need them) in there because I had them laying around. Now I know that I am kind of working bass ackwards with the Kelvin ratings and watts per lumen but honestly, my room is still cooler than getting an HID of the total wattage bing used and the light bill is not an issue... but yeah, I want to see what you have going on.
