Other Side of the Fence...Where the Grass is Always Greener

^^^ Shit, you the man, nuff said, B166.

Seriously considering putting a 600w in my 2x4 tent, but I am really on the fence since I'm not sure if I can handle the extra heat. Also not sure how much of a difference it will really make in a 2x4.
Always a struggle figuring out what direction to go with the gear. I ran a 400 w cool tube (2X140cfm inline fans) in a 2X3 with plenty of heat headaches back in 2012. I just couldn't justify running it in the Summer, but it produced 2+ oz per plant with 4 week veg. in Winter at 83 degrees. A 600w will have no issue getting to the edges of your plant foot print, and if you ever get bigger, it's nice to have the 600w in inventory. Just my two cents.

Yeah, I ended up ordering a Solis Tek 600 last night. Hopefully in the cool tube I can keep the temps under control. Otherwise I may end up running just the 400 when it starts getting warmer.

Hey everybody, digging your new threads (RIU upgrade)?

Smoked some Blue OG last night, that's a killer strain with a great fruity flavor that has developed more over the months in storage. The Bovedas hydrpacks are doing a great job maintaining moisture in the bud without fear of mold. Lot of my stock is over a year old now!

Saw my Area51 LED sitting in a box in the attic yesterday...shook my head, what a crime to have great tech like that just sitting there being unproductive. I should rent it out when I'm not using it, lol!

So anyone doing any upgrades to their grow space?

I moved my 75 gal fish tank to the same room as my grow closet. I'm starting to think about ways I can run a pump to provide nutrient-rich fish water to my plants using a hose. It would really make watering that much easier not having to use cups and buckets, especially when I have a scrog, pain in the ass to get back in the corners.

Lot of ways I could go with this, just a water hose attached to a pump seems like the least complicated and prone to failure method.

What do you think?

You're thinking of aquaponics.

You could have a sump running from your tank that filters etc the containing the nitrifying bacteria etc.

Then you could run a MAXIJET pump etc to send water to your plants from the sump.

Then a return from your plants to drop it back to the sump.

As long as you use an inert medium for your plants you should be golden.

Or you could just run a MAXIJET for drain to waste watering when you need to do a 25% water change on your tank then just use the old water for your plants.

Just a thought.

Here's some pics of my room.

Auto sugar mango RYDER is very nearly ready.

Photoperiod plants are at day 23 of 12/12.

Flipped 4/20
No excuses HB, should remember your flip date unless you're medicated!

Yep, you did. How do you like the new forum? I don't like it honestly but I'm getting use to it. Thinks are well just growing the freebie seed I got. So far so good. Might start a journal later down the road during flowering.

Huh? I flipped the lights on 4/20 :D
You know what I mean, don't you get asked around here all the time: "how many weeks flowering?", "when did ya flip?", "how long 12/12?" Yours has to be the easiest date to remember except for my anniversary - married in 2000, hard for me to forget how many years we've been married - (too long) - lol.

I had to kick my strawberries out of the room.. no space left
Don't you hate that? Only issue with small growers like us, not enough space. I had to yank an OG 18 out of my last grow, it was like kicking out one of my kids, but had to be done.

Just like anything, I dislike it until I get used to it. I did find a very useful feature yesterday. If you ever lose your post as your typing...like when copying and pasting multiple quotes, you can use Ctrl + Z or right click mouse to undo your mistake. They had it before, but it didn't work, this one does. I lost a 20 minute post I created and Ctrl + Z saved my ass from having to retype, who am I kidding, I would have gave up, lol! Not that vested

Let me know if you start a journal, or you can always post updates here. Learned a lot from you in the past brother!

Sweet looking auto Jon. Should be an excellent smoke. :leaf: What are you using for soil and nutes these days?

I'm using coco/perlite in an 80/20 ratio.

Canna coco A and B base nute NPK 5-4-3.
Mono Ca
Mono Mg
PK1314
Rhizotonic
CANNAZYM
Potassium Silicat.

I only use the mono Ca and mono Mg when I see signs of def and during PK usage I up the Mg level using the mono.

Most often I'm mixing A and B and the ZYM.

I ran out of Rhizotonic earlier in the grow and haven't bothered buying any more.

The potassium Silicat I only tend to use to raise pH when required. Otherwise it uses too much of my EC which in turn reduces my A and B usage and this in itself can cause issues with under feeding etc.

I may run a trial at some point whereby I constantly use the Potassium Silicat and just use my A and B at normal levels. Just to see if I get burn etc.
