Police say a Warsaw man was arrested after police say he tried to buy 14 pounds of marijuana through the mail.
On Thursday police arrested 22-year-old Johnathan Mallery. He is facing a preliminary charge of dealing marijuana.
Deputies with the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department helped U.S. Postal Service inspectors as they arrested Mallery at a home in Whispering Pines Trailer Court.
The U.S. Postal Service contacted police after a package was detected by federal K-9s in both Texas and Indiana for possibly containing illegal drugs. Police say the feds then supervised the delivery at the home, and Mallery identified himself as the person getting the package.

Ten bucks says he hires a lawyer that gets that little package tracking detail thrown out as entrapment. Their whole case will go down the shitter. I would say "I had no idea there were drugs in that package. Any person can send a package to anybody they so chose if they paid for it without permission from the recipient. I challenge the prosecution to prove that I attempted to purchase the marijuana." Who knows how far that would get you, but it's worth a shot.
