Outdoor Desert Grow

I'm in indoor guy... not much experience growing this particular plant outdoors. But anyway... I live in the desert, but I want to grow herb outside.

How in the world am I supposed to prevent the plant from drying up in the sun?

I've seen a few ideas but does anyone have a real solution to this problem? I can only go out to water at most once a day.

shade cloth works id get a tan or try and match the ground cover alittle. maybe paint it with some green or dark colors to break it up from the air just in case.
