outdoor drying

i am planning on trying to grow my first plant in a week or so and i was wondering if it is possible to dry outdoors. an idea i have is to get a big black(to keep temp up) plastic storage box from and cut some holes in it far enough up so that it gets ventalation without rain pouring in. placing the box in this little wooded area behind my house that has some trash in it so people wont notice the box. id imagine this idea is fairly dumb but this is my first time growing so i dont know too much about drying. any other ideas of how to cure outside or in a way thast is undetectable inside?

thanks

p.s. i live in northern florida

I live in florida too. Well I think you are way ahead of yourself. Your asking about curing your plants and you havn't grown one yet? You should grow the plant and then figure out how to cure it later. And yes, I do think your plan will work but do you really want to put it outside and get it stolen after all that hard work?

If I miss read the question then I'm sorry. Happy growing and goodluck.

actually i was thinking that same exact thing. I started a grow outdoors, and i wanted to know if making a box to dry outdoors is a good idea.

thanks

After all that hard work no way would I dry outdoors. I like the suggestion learn to grow first by the time you get that under your belt drying probably won't be such a big deal.

indoors is definately better, wallyduck has a plan to set up one tent inside another and to turn a propane stove on inside, over at icmag, but it sounds dangerous and a waste of time, just get a jar of skunk away gel (not real name) open it in your closet and hang buds from a hanger. wont smell at all unless you have a ton.

if you had to outside. a box is fine. but you would need a fan to move air threw that box. even a small computer fan and car battery. its going to be hard to do. also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqObr-M39Ug i buliding one of these right now for my house if you. you could blow that hot air into your box. it help with moisture. but you dont want to make it to warm. just enough to dry the air. im stoned i forgot your in florida. no prob with the cold weather down there. i would leave it open.. as much as you can but you got put a roof over it. more air the better.

i was thinking the same think i can grow outdoors to avoid my parents but what do i do to cure it lol bring it inside say screw my parents and say that the smell was my fart and hope they dont start snooping arowned i would pick a less smelly plant like northern lights or a fruity strained that will smell like berrys and have a thing of blue berrys in your room to exsplane the smell but have fun trying to hide the smell!!!
