Outdoor Flowering in SoCal

So I always thought that spring was a good time to veg. I gave my friend some plants to put outside a month ago and they all have been flowering the whole time. Then I look at the sunrise and sunset data for my area and it is 13hrs of daylight. So what is going on? Will they bud correctly? Will they revert back to veg? Is everything going to be alright?:o

If they're budding and still doing it without reverting you may have autoflowering plants.

Did you start them off from seed or are they clones? If from seed - I'd bet on autoflowering genetics.

yeah, they arent autoflower that is for sure. Some are the WidowCindy I have been working with that was gifted to me. Some g13 that is rite next to it has no flowers at all. All were the same size at start...

Then odds are you'd better get them back indoors, before the photoperiod gets too long for them. Maybe they'll finish up with no problem, but I really wouldn't risk it if possible.

This same thing is happening to me here in FL. Planted 9 Bagseed seedlings(month old) outside mid march.. only got 4 fems 2 hermies and 3 males R.I.P boys....I took clones or the fems (16) and am going to veg them until Junish and plant outside then. Figured I'd allow them the chance to reveg naturally..if it doesnt work I'll chalk it up as a learning expirience. At least Ill have the clones and fem'd seeds from attitude.

just looked at the plants and they are deff. flowering.

When I google 'hours of daylight' for my area is says about 13. I thought you have to veg in spring and flower in summer/fall.

whats up?

Put some outdoor lights on the side of your house if you're concerned about your ladies flowering too soon...Have the lights turn on on a timer just before it gets dark and you should be fine. Dont need to bring em inside.

I say if the weather is good... Put em out with those security lights... Veg em as soon as weather is good until you decide to flower.

yeah, i found it was too early really to start from clone,

it is pretty much the end (flowering schedule) for last seasons plants still, the days are getting longer and it should be about 18hrs of light by the end of this month or the middle of next sometime,.

idk about the security lights tho, that may be a bust.

What do you suggest? can the lights just go on for say 5 min ever hour or do they have to be on all the time? Cuz that may be a bit shady looking if you have lights on in you back yard for 6 hrs every night, very easy for anyone to spot.

so, what is the best way to keep your od plants in veg right now? be more specific, like light for how long? Will cfls work? how much light per plant? I can see anyone putting a kilowatt in their back yard, even in cali with 215 that is pretty kooky.

Cfls can do it. I use 2 T12 80watt flourescent 4 foot shop lights (2 Ott-Lites,and 2 warm Phillips). I got it all at Home Depot for really cheap. I Veg 20/4, most people go with 18/6.

haha, yeah, that sounds right.

The ones that were outside are still flowering like they never reverted.

Does that mean they wont? Is there a certain point where a plant will just keep growing in flower and it is too late to revert?

One of mine too is taking forever to revert, but I still think it will, I mean the veg season truly just started out here...

im having the same socal problem my issue is the plants are pretty far along in flower i hope they just finish. they were vegged under 24hrs so i wonder if this effects there sensitivity to dark periods does anyone know the absolute max daylight hours plants will flower under? there at 13hrs 20min now. max daylight will be 14hrs 30 min in june and does this vary from strain to strain. is it possible for them to continue to flower until finished? aggravating i wont make this mistake twice.
