Depends on where you are in cali if you're in norcal then you could start sometime in april or may. you should keep up with the weather forecasts and find out when the temps get warmer at night if it gets too cold then you could risk losing your plants.

Yeh gonna start soon, germin my babies next weekend and veggin 14/10 and throwing them outside when the light cycle is 14+ sunlight per day!

first of all im not trying to disrespect but I disagree with your statement about hermie and "dwarf" part. Its very natural for any plants to bloom on 12/12 cycle, no hermie unless its genetic traits.

for last two years , i ve been growing strains all round year. I have no hermie issue.

Wow I gotta say you were right. I think it was in my strain selection more than anything. The Green Crak runs perfectly all winter here my lord and with the sativa shortage in the southland right now I gotta say thank you for giving me the motivation to try it out again! I am most definitely willing to share genetics with u my friend, got my card and everything, and my club buddies have lots of cheap wax, shatter, crumble, etc most definitely willing to share. Just let me know if u need any help. Much respect.
I put another round out 2 weeks ago of the gc and shes already blooming big again, gonna try to time the shade so they get similar amount of light instead of going all out with light dep like up north.. will keep taking pics from this round forward, last was mint, so sweet and balanced, true sun grown flower.
Peace

Hello All this is my first post since 2010 I believe LOL I have switched to outdoor soil from indoor bubbleponic/aerator systems....I planted here in CA 2 weeks AGO. This is my first outdoor grow and I was worried I was planting early but let me tell you, my babies have started off right! I planted March 27. Only problem I had was one thunderstorm came through and I thought the temps would drop but its been 60+ daily and 40+ nightly. 76 right now! As of right now I can't wait for my babies! PATIENCE I MUST HAVE. (yoda Voice). How big you think my gals will grow?

Anyone here had any luck with purple cindy strain outdoor? I got a few and they're literally growing faster than any plant I have ever seen before.

If you're past your last frost date, you should be fine. Some considerations:
Cooler temps mean slower growth intitially, this may not be an issues if you're trying to get a head start and have larger plants come harvest time.
You may start your plant flowering early if it matures too quickly.

It would really be better to start them indoors or some other warm place at least until you get them established. You don't know how many seedlings I've lost in my life to rabbits, squirrels, mice, bugs, harsh weather, the list goes on. They will be helpless little babies out there all alone. It's a cruel world out there, give them a good start and you'll be rewarded.
