Outdoor Growing in Pots

I am growing some bag seed I found in pots outside. This is my first grow and I just am asking for any tips you may have to offer. Some questions I am concerned with are:
- When will I be able to tell when the plants are male/female?
- What fertilizers should I use? (I started them in soil with the soil soaked in Miracle Grow)
- When should I begin fertilizing?
- Does growing in a pot stunt the plant's growth and make it go into flowering earlier?

Any tips and hints would help a lot.

you can tell when plants are male by there small pollen sacks that form on the plant and females have with haires that turn into bud get the males out asap as soon as you spot them.
i would personally use fox farms liguid nutes grow big and tiger bloom work wonders
start using liguid nutes when plants are around 3 weeks old
growing in pots is fine i grow in 7 gallon pots along with growing in the ground you can pull a half punder out of a 7 gallon pot

Yeah. Do they go into flowering earlier if I have them in a say... 3 gallon pot? Or do they just not grow as quickly?
Also, about when does flowering begin, or when should I start looking for it?

are they flowering already? they might be autos. shade the pots. sun beating on little 3 gallon pots will heat that ground up fast. place some bricks or boards around the pots anything will help.

Below is a pick of the sprout after 5 days. Looks healthy. I'm also just wondering how much should I expect from a plant growing in a 3 gallon pot? Should I expect at least an ounce from this plant? Also how long would you expect it to be until this plant is flowering?

it will start flowering when the amount of light it recieves decreases to about 12 hours. you can find that out here: http://timeanddate.com/worldclock/sunrise.html. yield depends on so many things, too hard to tell for sure. rough estimate of a 3gal = 3 ft tall plant = 1 ounce. maybe im wrong though...

According to that website the sunlight will be at 12 hours on September 3, 2010. That means it will take about 12 weeks until it begins flowering? So I'm looking at up to 16 weeks until harvest? Does this seem like a normal grow time for my climate?

i'd personally get them out of those plastic pots and put them either in the ground or some smart pots. on an 80 degree day the soil in the pots can reach temps over 100 degrees, plants don't like this at all.
