Outdoor growing up

Hello,
Im planning on growing a few gals this summer and would like sum estimates on yield. I am planning on growing 6 photoperiod fems and 6 other autos outside. I will be using foxfarm soil with fox farm nutes. for the autos im going to keep them in a 5 gallon bucket and the other 6 photoperiod plants are going in the ground. i would like to yield atleast 2-3 lbs of the total yield.'


These are the strains im planning on growing

-purple diesel
-White chronic
-Northern lights
-white rhino
-Train Wreck
-mountain durban
-Auto candy kush
-auto cherry bomb


Im up north where there is colder weather and these are some questions i have.
1) will the cold affect total yeild?
2)will rain/weather affect potency?
3)I want to go big or go home so what size holes should i dig and how much fox farm soil vs natural dirt thats already there should i use?
4)i tried to pick strains that are tough in cold harsh weather are these suitable?

rather than focusing on yield focus on growing the best you can manage. lots of light, good ferts, never let them dry out for want of water and make sure to start with plants proven in your climate.\

1- the cold- make sure to plant varieties that you can harvest before you get frosts and cold weather.
2- rain will allow mold to grow especially when in late flower with big chunky buds. start by picking plants made for areas like yours that have some mold resistance. also planting where they will get some wind to allow them to dry quicker after the rains.
3- holes, dig them big, bigger the better. you may be able to find something cheaper than fox farms that would work as well locally. not knowing what your local soil is like hard to answer how much to use. if it is nice dark loamy soil it should be better than mine (mostly clay) and it is fine to use plenty. if it's like mine and mostly clay it's nearly unuseable, I may add 1/10th of it to my soil mix.
how do you plan on fertilizing your plants?
4- I have no expirience with any f those plants besides the trainwreck, trainwreck is a very nice plant but if your fall season is shot and rainy like mine it may not finish well I cut mine 2nd week of oct and 2more weeks would have been nice. this was my experience with only one clone and others could have been quicker (or longer) indoors it rocked realy well.
he autos will finish in time no problem. so no worries there.

I plan on fertilizing with the ff nutes once a week adding it in the water. I plan on heavily lsting my plant to get max yield also if your telling me that the trainwreck has a long flowering im thinking of just finding a new strain that is bomb and i can pull atleast a qp off of with short flower time.
Im also thinking of just saying f it at go with a full autoflower grow to make sure everything finishes on time, would you recommend this?

I myself don't like autos as much as the reg season plants. yea it's nice getting some early bud but for yield the ones I have grown out are more novelty than anything. I have not grown many however just a handful of freebies, lowryder and some crosses and Iranians. the Iranians were the only ones i would buy and be happy to grow anytime. also they will take longer than the true autos but also yield better and the smoke can be quite potent.
go with a mix like you first wanted some autos and some regular season plants just how you said in he first place regs in the ground and autos in 5 gals
what time of fall do you start getting our first frosts?

id say we get our first frost around September 20th or a lil later

Getawaymountain has recommended Brains Choice which is a huge yielder and very mold resistant and work well in Maine. Plants can yield up to 2lbs per plant, with a high THC content of 20%. I plan on trying it in a big way this season.

I've had plenty of experience with Northern Lights, which is one of my all time favorite strains.

I don't understand what your asking.

I'm not certain what na is either, not up to date with the lingo i guess. lollypoping or taking the bottom branches off is something i do outdoors. i will wait till the plant is about to flower and take off the branches and small shit that hangs low and will not produce much. this keeps the plants from molding some, allowing air to come through the plant better. don't cut them to early wait till the plants get large to take branches off you can select the garbage vegetation easier that way.

Thanks for the strain info northernman i change sum of my strains that im going to grow and decided to try brains choice for the high yield and i will plan on lollypopping my plants also i have just one more question for you all haha

when i am drying my final medicine and lets say i have 3-4 lbs how bad will it stink up my room/house and when im drying what if i run 3 or 4 carbon scrubbers and use ona pro blocks/ wall plugins to cover up and eliminate it? will that do the trick or will it still stink bad?

unless you can seal a room better than i 3-4 lbs of good dank drying is going to stink to high heaven. just opening up the door once or twice a day will let enough escape to stink a good sized house up good for some time.
I have ona myself along with a carbon filter and I can still smell it pretty good even sealed inside a normal room. I tried to seal the door seams but just opening it makes the house reek. definitely not going to get away with drying 4bs without the people you live with catching a whiff now and then if not totally smelling nonstop.
it will almost always smell more after cut and sitting than while on the plant for the first few days anyhow then it tames a little, enough to cover maybe with some less stinky.

thanks for the heads up dopeydog what i think ill do is run about 5 air purifiers with a fan rigged to the back of each one to help push the air though the carbon also i am going to put ona around the house and ontop of every door frame whats the best way to seal a door duktape or with cloths? what did you do?

I really appreciate your effort to post such kind of important stuff which can be beneficial for everyone who are actually looking for growing some plants outdoor.
