I have a pit 6ft long, 4ft wide and two feet deep that will have a raised planter about a 1ft tall above that making the total depths 3ftish. I have lined the bottom about 2-3 inches deep with hydroton and perililite and plan to fill the pit with a mixture of perilite, ocean forest and happy frog. Plants will be grown in the ScrOG method, filling out chicken wire in a horizontal manner as much as possible. Pit is in a greenhouse with no roof to allow for more overhead light.

Strains that will be grown are an Erkle clone topped once with two main branches and a crapload of side branching, and a Purple Skunk clone from a mother that i received as a gift years ago and have since kept in veg. Both plants have had some issues with heat stress (Skunk don't seem to mind as much) but i feel after a week or so outdoor they will have bushed out and look more appealing.

Will nute with Earth Juice Grow, Catalyst, Meta K, Bloom, some organic molasses and Vital Organics bat guano at various intervals. Nutes are kept aerated with bubble stones. Baking soda is used to raise ph. Should mites become a problem I may use Rasta Bobs Deathmite or release mass amounts of lady bugs.

Filling a pit this large is proving to be a bit of an issue. I need ALOT of soil as it is big and will have a raised planter above it so instead of filling it with just fox farms ocean forest and happy frog with a bit of perilite, I will opt for taking about a third (1/3) of the soil that was already there and mix it with a sixth (1/6) ocean forest/happy frog, a sixth (1/6) of Vital Earth Mega Worm castings, a sixth (1/6) of Volcanic pumice stone, and a sixth (1/6) of Vital Earth compost.

Finally found some batteries for my camera! Below are some pictures of my grow in progress. One shows a trailer that i ripped the aluminum siding and inside paneling to make a greenhouse, complete with 130lb mastiff ridge-back guard-dogge. Another picture shows a 2ft deep, 4ft wide, 6ft long pit i dug and filled partly with hydroton and perilite for some drainage. the last shows an extremely bushy Erkle clone with DOZENS AND DOZENS AND DOZENS of side branching, great for scroggin possibleh?

Dunno about FIM up top, Was considering trimming the undergrowth below the two main branches back to nothin (taking a few nice clones) and just have her work on just the two main branches with all them little branches. She has been topped once already thus the Y shape, using this Y shape i was planning pull down both main branches and have them fill out chicken wire lengthwise while the side branches off of those branches filled out widthwise. The sun moves from one direction to another and during its moving i would expect branches to shadow other branches, by making use of Scrog i can eliminate these shadows caused by the sun. I'd LST but the Scrog method seems to be exactly that, LST the lazy mans way right?

No, scrogging a plant that big is actually called trellising, and its mostly used so that the bottom gets as much light as the top. U shud start tying down those 2 big branches and start taking clones from the tops. Come fall u will have a great harvest.

So its been a bit since i fed this thread. My landlords wife died so i had to cease the filling of my hole with soil builders, nutrients and plants until i could figure out if he was going to at least be my landlord until the end of the year so i could keep growing.

I'll have some pictures of my plants and setup in a couple hours.

BTW SOMETHING INTERESTING! I have a seedling that volunteered in my backyard from some seed i dropped last year, f*cker is huge! fan leaves the size of my hand, which spread out flat is wider than a standard zip lock sandwich bag. The stalk is thicker than a sharpy/magic marker and its not even a foot tall yet. If i remember right it should be either Cheese or Jilly bean, both large outdoor producers. Just hoping its a female.

That was last summer, I now face a height issue which sucks with all this great free hella strong free light but... I had been planning on giving this SCROG thing a try for my indoor with the mind set if I screw up badly I got my outdoor girlz but now I just learned my lovely city won't let my planned fence be taller than 3' so someone suggested an outdoor SGROG

OK, I am a green thumbed amateur or relative Newbie only one year outdoor which is nothing compared to self teaching Indoor to me... I think I do ok but honestly my head just doesn't wrap around some things at all like how the telephone and tv work... seriously it was magic at 3 it's magic at 3_ ;) I am typing on a typewriter that magically transmits my writings as far as I'm concerned... I've always loved gardening outdoors, it was good therapy indoors but I spend a lot of time with them and about 7 years ago I spent day and night studying the indoor intricacies... what I am saying is I don't have a damn clue how to do this right! Help? I just bought my place and moved in, no baby girlz yet and going through withdrawels and panicking because last year this time as you can see above my girlz were HUGE! Thanks! :bigjoint:

How many girlz? I would normally not put more than two... is it like indoor or do you let 2 girlz grow out the 6ft, wait that makes no sense! :eyesmoke:
