Outdoor snob or old geezer?

This is not a rant!

I admit it, I never knew inside weed was so popular.
Being locked behind the emerald triangle with fresh outdoor humidor style herb where aging steel haired hippies with ZZ top beards talk about "Chemmy bud" and how every kid has a grow in the mothers attic and why would any one move to norcal and grow inside when its the outside that makes it so special.

But now, fast forward 20 years and every one is talking about how Indore has overtaken outdoor nature sunlight.

Am I just an old geezer now?
**THIS IS NOT A RANT** I just need to know.

Haha. You must be a geezer. Up until recently, the only/best way to grow indoors was floros. However, Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium are "new" and allow people to grow very effeciently inside. No, it's not better than the sun but some people say its easier to control the habitat: Bugs, temp, humidity, and even light regime. Not to mention the helicopters that fly around in my region looking for outdoor pot. So you can see the pros and cons of both. Some people claim to get 1 gram per watt, and some even claim 2 grams per watt! So you can see with the lowest watt HPS bulb you can get, (70 watts) people are easily getting an ounce or two.

Hope this helped ya geezer! ;P

it's just newb's that love the indoor cause it looks pretty and is consestant. once you've smoked ultra chronic organic outdoor there is no comparision though. the outdoor high lasts HOURS longer than indoor. It's the power of the sun!

there is no way to get 1 gram per watt with a 70 watt bulb. only with a room full of 600's or 1000's

and he isn't asking why people grow it he is asking why people who don't grow want indoor and the answer is mostly hype and hip-hop singers and movies.

Like justfkngrowit said the technology with indoor has improved so much tht people with high budgets can have the bombest set ups yielding them an abundance of weed every 2 months. Nd thts the thing is when u grow inddoor you can get perpetual like tht. But otherwise if your looking for low budget you got good genetics and want it to grow throw tht fucker outside and take care of it. Outdoor just comes with problems you dont have as much control over. Like right now this fuckin rain:wall: lol

I will be going indoor after this outdoor grow. That being said the sun and planting directly in the ground sure do let the plants grow big.

New growers like indoor cause its consistant and year round. New smokers like indoor cause when you think of a hydro setup you think of indoor. I don't know how many times i've asked someone what kinda weed is this and they answer hydro. and its like well thats how it was grown but what is it. Average logic tells you that if its inside under light than its better, and that makes sense but isnt always true.

Maybe your Conservative Republican that would rather get sunlight for free, rather than making a capitol investment in equipment that only gives you half as much light.

A LOT of outdoor sucks too. you have to get it from people that put the love into it.
So true! Just growing outdoors or just growing indoors does not equal quality weed. Quality weed comes from giving a plant with good genetics what it needs to maximize its THC (and CBN) output. Any schlub can throw seeds in the ground, but that doesn't meant the weed (if it survives) will be a quality smoke.

i think most of us indoor ppl are just nervous about growing outdoors in our particular area, shit, just yesterday 15 plants were found down my road. so ur not old, we are just safe.

I think most indoor growers enjoy gorwing indoors, in the amount of control they are afforded, but i think most of us indoor growers would give our nuts to get a grow going out in the sun in your garden. I mean how can we look at some of the tree's and opt for indoor? damn that, pounds man, pounds!

Saying that even if i had outdoor i'd still have an indoor op for year round growing and playing around, it is after all a hobby as well as means to an end.

The choice of strains you enjoy will make a big difference as well. Up here in Canada the short growing season and potential for early frost really limits what we can properly finish outside, too much sativa in the mix and you may be making rope at the end of the season. :bigjoint:

that's the reason I do indoor, and so I can work on my strains and do my experiments *mad scientist laugh*

I love having a lab to work in!

I love indoor chronic that was grown correctly and I love outdoor chron that was grown correctly, but in my neck of the woods (SoCal) the indoor is far superior to the outdoor! Its too hard to find good outdoor with so much fantastic indoor around! I don’t know if I can say I’ve gotten any higher for longer off any outdoor but I’d love to find some that might..

PS.. Wish I had a huge yard....

Worded perfectly!

Growing outdoors is an adventure, you can't get that with indoor growing.

Well I have been growing for 25 years. Every season I plant 30 outdoors in the first of april. By mid to late september I have on average 30 -45 lbs of killer to trim. This season I built a greenhouse. Im not all in yet to tell you if it was as good as truly outdoor, but I know its alot cleaner. Birdshit bugs ect. Last year on my birthday my wife got me 4 1000 watters to set up my grow room. I did my normal 30 at a time and got 17 lbs. 2 oz. I dont want to talk about my power bill. That will kill everyones buzz. Long story short Outside is the bomb but inside is better than not at all.
Have fun

I think if we could grow outdoor with perfect settings and great weather then we would!

I like growing indoors and it is safer for me but I would love to plant my garden with nothing but MJ :)
