Outlet for AFTER 1000 watt HPS digital ballast in new grow room....

So my thought is i woulod like to maybe use and outlet in the wall for my 1000 watt HPS vented hood with digi ballast. I wired most of my house over the years and know the basics but my question is can a standard 15 amp or 20 amp household 110 volt outlet be used for my light wirering AFTER the ballast?? It is higher voltage so im not sure it would be safe. In my tent i just drilled a whole the size of the wire and disconected it from the light and ran through the hole then reconected it..... was gonna do my new room the same way the problem with this way is it makes taking the light down for cleaning and such a pain so i am considering an outlet in the wall with a plug on the light itself.
Any thoughts on what outlets to use for this? The wire is only 14 gauge so it seems to me a 15 amp standard outlet would work just fine but don't care to burn down my house lol

you can either plug ONLY the ballast into the outlet or with 12 gauge wire you could replace the breaker in the panel with a 20amp fuse and you would be able to add a fan or something else to the outlet.

Your not making a wole lot of sense, diagram or a clearer description.

If you wat to by-pass the ballast, no, you can't, and no you can't run a 220VAC ballast on 115VAC.

My ballasts are hooked up to a relay and timer so they are each on their own breaker. All i want to do is cut the cable going from the ballast to the light and wire it to some sort of plug so i can disconect it easier. Im not changing the way they are wired just adding a plug of some sort and want to know if a standard 110 volt outlet can be what i use for the plug. does that make sense? other wise i would just drill a whole in the wall and feed the wire from the ballast through the hole and to the light...... can i wire in a plug and socket or plug and outlet or is that not safe?
Ill try and get a diagram......
 
I would try an extension cord...even if you don't need the full length you can coil it up...but it would give you the extra plug you're looking for...and you wouldn't damage the original cord. A 1" hole and some Silicon and you're finished with the installation lol

most hydro stores sell lamp extension cords. just figure out what style you have (common or hydrofarm) and get one of those.

My ballasts are mounted outside the room and thus that connection is not usable because the wire is ran through the walls and such. I figured i could use an extension cord with a reglular wall outlet but since its after the ballast i was not sure about the voltage and such and want to be safe.....

i'm totally lost on what you are trying to do. they sell both ballast and lamp extension cords that are 10' long and i can't imagine that one or the other will not satisfy what you are trying to do. you said you want to be able to disconnect the cord going from the ballast to the light. why can't you just unplug it at the ballast? why do you even need to unplug it in the first place? if you want the disconnect in the room then just get one of those extensions and you will have a disconnect in the room.

I just thought using an outlet right in the room would be nice. The cord id ran through the wall now and disconnecting it at the ballast would not allow me to remove the light. I can disconnect the wireing at the light if needed and thats what i am going to do. The thought of using an outlet to make disconnecting easier is all i was considering doing.
thanks to all who replied but i just drilled 1/2 inch holes and will seal them with caulk and if i want to remove lights for cleaning i will disconnect the wireing from the light socket inside the light..............
 
Ballast ---> Lamp Cord ---> (Through Wall) ---> Lamp Extension Cord ---> Reflector...You can run the cord just an inch or 2 into the room...instead of a wall plate it will be a hanging outlet...same effect.
