Over Dry Can't Seem to get it right

So I am dryin my plants in a closet under the stairs and I checked them in two days and they are super brittle. Kept them in there for about 10 days and tryd curing for two more weeks in a ason jar and they never seemed to get more moist. Even the aroma was off and the taste was as if I was smoking a fresh over moist plant and the buzz was a real downer aka a sleep aid. Please help!! Kept the lower branches growing almost finished need new advice. If I let important info out just ask.. Thank You

walk me through what you do when harvest..do you have the room cold and dark? with small slow fan going?

I cut branches hang them in closet that is tempd at about 73 deg. havnt checked hum. not sure what that should be at. I hang them from string up side down of course and let them hang. Yes I have a small fan blowing away from plant. like I said two days into it they are brittle and crumble. FYI it is a big budda blue cheese

What climate do you live? Dry? Humid? Desert? Sounds like you live in an area where it has a low RH, take away the fan.

Check humidity and make sure fan is on "low". If your buds are fluffy they will dry quick. Low humidity will also dry your buds very fast. You might want to check on them more often, catch them before they get too crispy.

it's winter RH is very low in most places..you gotta check..especially is you have heat on in the house..i live in florida and the same thing happened to me we had a cold snap last year and my heat was on which dries the shit out of it..once it's dry/dry from bud core it will no longer cure..bud still needs moisture to "wick" through the bud to complete cure process in jars..get Boveda Paks.

speaking from my experience, temp 70 and humidity around 60% for like the first 5 days and 50% humidity from that point on. should take around 7-10 days to dry out doing it like that.
