Hey RIU I am on my second soil grow week 5 of veg, and have experienced some nute burn it seems. I am using the House & Garden line. I have been using about 1/2 the amount of which was directed, however i habe been adding in cal mag and liquid karma from the botanicare line up to the H&G line. is that what caused this nute burn? im never heavy handed i always go generously under. my ph is good (6.8), my water is good (r/o) my only guess is that its adding those other nutes that are not included in the HG line up. Also I flushed 3 gallons thru the plants (5 gallon pots) about 3 days ago and it seemes to help a tad, but some of the plants show no real improvement.....should i flush with 10 gallons of r/o or should i wait, i dont wanna rush another flush if its not the best solution...please help thanks.

My guess is the cal-mag is doing it. I love the stuff and use it as a first response to deficiencies, but it is strong. Cut the cal-mag out and only use it if needed. Flush again with 10% recommended food and in 5 to 8 days all should be well again. When I use cal-mag I use .5ml to 1 liter water.

You can also use molasses to help boost soil activity and uptake of food. Molasses has lots of elements in it for plants. Mix at a rate of 2 tablespoons per gallon. If you want more info on molasses let me know.

Peace

so should i flush with all water tonight again? they are still a little moist from the last flush. and then i should wait a week or so for any nutes again? or should i flush with and then use nutes again but less?? sorry so many ?'s, my first grow went way smoother lol, beginners luck at that point i guess...hahahaha i wanna kick myself in the arsehole for adding more nutes to the feeding chart....for f sake if it wasnt part of the regiment i shouldnt have added it....its like fixin somthin that isnt broken.

Why did you choose soil if you were going to use it like a soilless media? Soil nutrient uptake systems depend on decomposition, and natural organic chemistry. Tossing chemical ferts into a soil system just doesn't make sense to me. Might as well use Peat or Coco coir.

I wish you could post a picture. Sounds like you've already flushed but you're still running into a "burn" issue. Without ruling out other things, like your 6.0 pH (too low), it very well could be deficiency and not a burn. Depends on the soil of choice I guess, and if it came with time release fertilizers. At that pH, and with the extra N in the Cal-Mag, it could very well be a potassium shortage. Impossible for me to say either way, but it's not uncommon.

Flushing your soil isn't going to "fix" those leaves. Once they are damaged they stay damaged. The focus should be on your new growth. If after the last flush you're still seeing burned up tips at the top of the plant then you do need to flush again, and the sooner the better I suppose, because you didn't flush it completely the first time around.

In the future you should look into organic solutions, like Organicare, BioCanna, Earth Juice, etc. Adding chem ferts to a soil system works better with the combination of Humic Acid. The Liquid Karma has a bit I think (I know it has yucca extract and fulvic acid) so maybe just increasing your LK dosage to 10ml or 15ml per gallon for a bit will help your plant manage the cation exchange at your root zone.

Im having some of the same issues........sixth week of veg and plants yellowing from bottom up and leafs are getting yellow all the way around.......not on the edges or anything the entire leafe is just turning a gold color.........any ideas?

Are the stems purple? Are you watering often enough? It could just be those leaves are too far from your lighting to get enough energy to continue photosynthesis and the chlorophyll is depleted. You think maybe you could include some details, like lighting, soil, methods, nutrients, etc???
