how can you overwater a plant but yet you can grow a plant in water (hydro)??
Because a dripper system will only water for half an hour at a time and then drain, and the nft systems have air infused into the water. you over water in soil and you lose any oxygen to the roots

In hydro/aero setups the plants are always exposed to air or highly oxygenated water. Overwatered plants in soil lack that air exposure.

Hydroponics is different cause you have to add air to the water so that the plant doesn't drown. That is what airpump + airstone does.

If soil turns into bog oxygen doesnt breath and cant get to roots. Roots drown

Feel free to correct if wrong :)

I grew and budded a plant in a 4l ice cram container 3" net pot with water nuts and an air stone , when it got big I had to add water almost every day. but it worked.
