Ozone generator and open flames?

Ok just a nube here so please try your best to hold back the ribbing...

I have an Ozone generator I'd like to use for my upcoming indoor grow. Let me set the scene so you all can better let me know the answer to my question of,..... is it safe to use this thing?

So the garage of my house was turned into a media room by the previous owners, so it has a drop ceiling, carpet, etc...The hot water heater, which is a gas operated one, is inside a closet in this room. Then they constructed an interior room/closet opposite side from the water heater that is enclosed and has a door on it. This is where I plan to put said grow. My question is this, for anyone who might know. Would it be safe to run the ozone generator in the main garage/media room area with the hot water heater only a closet door between it? Obviously I would not put the generator right next to the door where the water heater is, but it would be in the same room. Or would it be best to just put it in the grow room, so there are two doors and about 15 feet between the two?? Or am I tempting the fire gods by using at all?
