P10ps CFL Adventure

I've seen lowryder #2 with half the wattage you're using and it was surprisingly great bud. A hippie I know grew it and literally germed, planted and watered. You'll have yourself a nice little stash with that. Good luck

Hahaha, well, unfortunately I think the lowryder #2 is on her deathbed because of MG potting soil having a ph of 8.6! But the pure afghan is growing very nicely so hopefully shes a decent yielder

December 27th, 2010- Hello everybody, not much to report on. Plants growing steadily and healthy. I just gave her nutes for the first time, so I'm gunna keep a close eye on her to see how she likes them. I got a 50$ gift card for Canadian tire so I'll be making a trip through there today to hopefully increase my wattage and get a few more 6500k cfls. After I get some 6500k's I'll be set in terms of lighting, so that will be nice to get out of the way. Also, my friend kindly donated a huge fan that's normally used in vending machines I believe. Its a long skinny fan that fits perfectly inside my grow tent. I just need to get some chain so I can hang that sucker at canopy level to keep my lights cool and help strengthen my stems.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow!

Just a quick update- I Went to the hardware store and grabbed some more lights. I'm now up to 400+ watts of cfl for 2 plants. Hopefully this turns out good =D

If 20 Tweakers** can make meth in a shack on the verge of spontaneous combustion, together we can make our plants thrive and yield like no tomorrow.

hahaha so true. I try to remember it's a weed and that some farmers are having a hard time killing these fuckers in their crops...

I read that all the time, the experienced growers on these forums always are telling the newbs 'chilax! you're trying too hard!' That's essentially what overwatering is all about. Oh no! is my plant thirsty?! here's another gallon! Drink!

Haha, yeah thats true, I find myself wanting to "help" my plant grow all the time. But when it comes down to it you just gotta let nature do her thing.

December 28th, 2010- Woke up this morning and was surprised with the amount of new growth in one night, it seems she loved the nutes. I'll be feeding her every other feeding with half strength MG all purpose fert for about a week to a week and a half then I will bump her up to full strength. Not going to flower on a set date. Just waiting until I feel its a good height then I'll make my decision. Quick question, does anyone think http://www.hydrowholesale.com/Carbon-Filters-and-Air-Purification/Viagrow-100-CFM-4-FilterTD-Series-Fan-COMBO.asp will be enough to keep the stink in the tent? The tent is in a closet and I need as much odor control for the cheapest price.

Heres some pics I just took

I'm sure that carbon filter fan works, but I hear ona-gel is a great way to kill odors (yes kill, not just mask) and it will last for your entire crop depending on what size you get. I'll be using it for my stealth grow.

Something you should look into is yeast mixed with.. water or some ingredient... and it produces CO2 and it probably costs about 10 bucks for all the stuff or less. I'd do a google search or an RIU search.

Get a normal size bottle of water, poke a hole in the head with a pen, fill half way with warm water, mix in 1 tblsp of sugar and one tblsp of yeast. Put the lid on, cover the pen hole with your finger, giv'er a shake and then place it with your plant. The yeast eats the sugar and produces co2. Cheap and extremely easy.

December 30th, 2010- Hey guys. So where to start.... Just finished watering and snapping some pics of the girls which will be at the end of this post. I think the little one is going to die, but I'm not gunna stop trying to revive her haha. The Pure Afghan is getting pretty big. I'm gunna transplant it soon I think into maybe a 5 gal bucket. Haven't put much thought towards it yet. I've started to assemble a bunch of these cool little pop can cfl reflectors. There's a guide in the DIY section if anyone is interested. I'll be attaching them shortly. I also snapped a few more pictures of my set up for anyone who's interested.

I spray the inside of my pop cans with flat white spray paint, works like a charm, no hotspots =)
