Im a noob to LED here, i know not a whole lot as always been hps but when i saw the same 561c diodes ppl are raving about for less money than QB for more diodes and zero wait it seemed a no brainer. If you can beat samsung made strips 384 diodes for $78 shipping included i would shout it loud cause im sure you will get business. Not mine because i already ordered tho. I didnt overlook you as im new and jumped at what was the best option i could find. Good luck to though.

I was under the impression cree cobs were the best of yesteryear and are now just overpriced options that are bettered by more than a few things? Just going by my research around here with zero bias towards any particular option. Well other than i try to avoid juvenile business owners.
Did you forget what you posted 1 1/2 hours ago, you have been here for what, two minutes and your already passing judgements on things you know nothing about.

yup yup. Judgements. Clearly saying over and over again i dont know and everywhere you read has conflicting statements with the majority saying cree's used to be the best but are no longer.

Please explain how is someone saying over and over "i dont know can you clarify" passing judgement. The only judgement i passed was on the jerkoffs fighting over whos light is better so they can sell more.

You need to read more and criticize less, 3590's are still great for high efficiency builds. Some of the other COBs are better for best bang for the buck builds when driving them harder.
Actually, while I do still like CXB3590s, Vero29Cs, as I stated earlier, put out ~100 more PPFD at 1670mA running 3500k/90CRI than a CXB3590 running 3500k/80CRI at 2150mA, both being around 36v models.

That isn't to say that CXBs aren't excellent quality, but Cree really needs to put out a new series model.

That said, I wonder if the +10 CRI has most to do with it, but still, that amperage difference..

I'm taking about driving them at 1050 ma or less, high efficiency.

I completely understand every word i said and will never back away from it. Thats a completely seperate statement from a question about cxb's. A mature adult who is a responsible business owner wont run around insulting their competition, they will promote their own product and let the results speak for themselves. There are definately a few like that around here that conduct their business like mature adults, cobkits and cutter both spring to mind. Guess you must be buddies with one of the juveniles who run a business like its a flea market.

That still has nothing to do with cxb's and if they are worth it in todays market which is what the question was.

Edit: i hit reply before seeing your previous post. so thank you for clarifying. So what youre saying is that in a high initial cost buildout where efficiency is the only consideration cxbs would be the best option? and otherwise not? that makes sense then and would explain the conflicting opinions and threads.

And one other thing capt, to be clear, i do respect your opinion and realize that you regularly have valueable and insightful advice. Doesnt change the fact theres at least 4 or more ppl trying to hawk lights around here who do it in an incredibly sleezy way.

Should have been around here for the last 4 or 5 years, I've seen worse.
Just because youve seen worse doesnt make it right. Is the shit going on in north korea okay because hitler was worse?

Okay i'll admit that was a sensational over the top example, but IMO its not wrong.

CXB3590 DB bin changes everything but people need to run them 50w or less it jumped from 56% to 60% efficiency but people are stuck on price not performance. BTW the Full spectrum Chinese COBs do work I'm waiting to add some to my grow to show people not just say they work but to prove a point. Hey what about the new Chilled that light has the spectrum coverage and I might give it a test run like I did the Quantum board

Dont have to know the history behind an arguement to see that multiple ppl are being childish. The only reason i kept responding is because you kept passing judgement on me for completely legitimate observations.

That said, dislike me if you want but i have no problem with you or anythign you said, i just disagree with some of it.
