paper plates and gnats

will paper plates with a slit over the pots be enough to stop gnats?

soil or hydro,if its soil I have heard that a layer of sand on top will keep the bugs away. good luck

If you have gnats you not only have to cover the top layer but also the drip holes in the bottom of your pots.

Due to you blocking the top they will still enter underneath.

Just something that happened to me when i got these little F*ckers from some clones.
