Passive intake options

Hey Rollitup, I'm hoping I can get some feed back.

So I have the flaps open for passive intake,
4in inline fan and 4in Carbon filter (exhausting)
2x2 tent 220 wat LED
temps are around 74-79 F

QUESTIONS

Do I have any options to keep the passive intake but also making it more stealthier?
When the lights are on the tents LED are so obvious.

Also when the lights OFF sometimes my KITCHEN light will turn on, will light going trough the tent at night be bad?

I have the tent tucked away in a corner in my kitchen next to a sliding door that goes out to my back yard.

So Do all growers leave their tent flaps open with the light showing when using a passive intake ?

What can I do besides a passive intake ???

Does your tent have any round duct holes down the bottom? I just use them with a bit of duct curved in a U shape to break the line of light. I also managed to get some black ducting so it doesn't reflect. I hear people paint the inside black if using the reflective ducting.

This way, you can lay the duct inside your tent so it looks less obvious from the outside and it won't leak any light in or out.

This is exactly what i was going to say. OP as u saw in my post that u commented on I plan for two 6" ducts for passive intake since that will be adequate size to match with the 4" exhaust I plan for. I beleive you want 3-4 times the size for passive opening and that would be 3 times the size. 6"+6"=12"/4"=3 times

Do I use the same ducting for both intakes to make an U ?

Not quite sure what ya mean mate. Do you mean one piece of duct and 2 intake holes? If ya do, you'd need a T piece or something to vent the air inside the tent. Otherwise you'll need a separate U for each intake hole you have open. In your case, 2 lengths of duct about a meter/3'ish ft long for 2 intakes. Hope that makes sense :bigjoint:

Thanks for clarifying ya I meant do I need a U for each hole (which you answer yes)

Awesome I just got back from Home Depot, going to configure the tent and post some pictures once in done! Thanks outlier

I'll be keeping an eye for an update as this is what I'm hoping to do! Whats the height of your tent and cfm of your exhaust?

I'm running a 2x2x4 tent with a 190cf ventech fan. Right now I just set up the tent with the flaps open. I liked the idea of getting a T connector and connecting both passive intakes to save room. Got cramped up quick in there. But I do have a bit of negative pressure with just the flaps open so I'm pretty content right now. Yay

Can't tell in the pic but the sides are sucked in. Super stoked right now

Good shit!

I thought i saw in another post you had apollo hort's 4" fan and filter? I was looking at that as an option, did you not like it and go with the ventech?

Ya I went with ventech only becuase They offered prime shipping lol or I think I was trying to get all my items from the same buyer on Amazon. It was just purely a shipping preference lol

I bent some coat hangers so that I could tape them to my tent poles, and they'd press the walls out. Now negative pressure doesn't reduce my grow space :)
My walls bend out, as if I had a positive air pressure system :) Extra space
