PC Grow Box - Stealth-ish

Hey all. I was looking for some feedback/recommendations on this setup I just made. I have 4 100W equivalent CFL's in there, with a combined output of 5200 lumens :hump:

. Not nearly as high as it can go, but I felt that in a space of 2L X 1.5H X 10inW that it would do fine. Temp right above soil is about 83.7 degrees F with NO fans on, though I am going to put some in soon. About 4 80mm case fans I thought. As you may see from the pics, the lights are going to be about 2 in away from the plant (when it sprouts). Hit me back with comments and suggestions! Thanks

i have the same setup going but mines cooler...i will have pics soon...and mine is lightproof as well. All i did was set a box in the inside...and the plants are accessable through a hole in the front...its pretty pimp!

Nice setup man. I like watching mini grows like this. If I were you id buy a low rectangle pot for your baby, try to use all the space! 12/12 right off the bat would be $.. No idea what your plans are, but good luck man. Looks like fun. :joint:

You may want to consider putting those lights horizontally and raising the plants. I cant see you getting much bud otherwise!

hey dood im actually trying to make one right now and it not being light proof driving me up the wall pls show some pics or how u made it lightproof

SWIM made theres light proof by taking all of the panels off and covering the metal shell in black duct tape. Then put the panels back on and mylar the inside! Presto- instant light proof

First thing i thought when reading this was the same as bgreenitscool,i use to hide weed in my T.V speaker screen n covered the inside with black tape,i would think the same concept would work in a computer tower

Dont cover it all up. PC grows get hot hot hot! Ventilation is a number one issue!

I don't get these PC grows...it's pretty pointless isn't it?....i mean the plant has no room to grow at all...and what kinda bud you going to get?...lucky if you get a couple grams. But then again i've never grown in that, so....do you get any results at all?

I would turn all those cfl's horizontally, use 12/12, get yourself a long rectangular grow pot, and lst the shit out of whatever plant you put in there. You should be able to get a 1/4-1/2 oz, depending on the strain, up to an oz if you had it set up perfect.

hey dude good idea, i am doing a pc grow with 120w of cfl, hey man DO NOT ADHERE YOUR LIGHTS WITH TAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the tape will get warm and WILL pull off sending your lights to crash down on your plants!!!!! it has happened to me,, and i think you need to organize better check out mine, i used 3 94 cent light fixtures and i little bit of electrical know how and presto, very clean interior...

;you may want to rework your lights later on when your plant is bigger. And, as for a pot, I would think about something that is closer to the bottom of the case as height will quickly become an issue. I am doing the same thing and I started like you did and had to change my lights. the four 26w cfls should work fine in the case as well.

Check out my thread "5 weeks and counting" for a couple of pics of my plant and grow rig. Its just been tripped over to bud.
