PC Stealth Growing Questions

I don't smoke much weed so a wee PC stealth would be perfect to tie me over, I'm new to the forums and I've done searches and read many forums and still haven't found one that's helped with my questions.

Is there any journals your aware of or any of you tried to do something similar to a oxypot setup with CFL's and PC stealth grow, now i know Oxypots are quite tall so i was thinking of a DIY one but instead of deep and pot like possible one like a cuboid and more shallow but longer in length like a pack lunch box the surface area of the PC case?

I know it has to be black otherwise algae is a problem but i was just curious to if anyone has tried similar and succeeded as most PC Stealth I've seen are soil but I'm wondering if this is down to size of PC Case.

Also how do you deal with smell as i know PC Fans have not great air flow/push so using a pre bought carbon filter would be no good, I've seen the DIY carbon filters people made and i was curious if people have succeeded with these using pc fans and smell is controlled?

So i take it by no one responding there's not a grow journal out there which involves a stealth PC grow + hydro/bubbleponics?

I have done a search and looked for a while but all i could find with PC stealth grows containing soil grows, i was just curious to whether someone has done a hydro/bubbleponic grow in a PC grow that's all, will keep searching someone must of attempted one .

Dont think a lot of people do that lol. PC case is too small. do it yourself and see how it turns out

Hey man,

I've just set up my first PC grow, Im growing in soil and I'd recommend you do the same for your first grow but DIY Oxypot/DWC systems are easily mate, get an appropriately sized Tupperware container (2liters or so) and cover it with mylar/aluminium tape to stop light getting in, add a net pot and a pump and your good to go. Search for DWC ( Deep water culture) as oxypot is a brand and DWC is the technique.

For the smell pick up a block of ona gel and have it near the exhaust, get a plug in air freshener in the room aswell and you should be alright for smell, one/two small plants dont smell to much.

I know how to build me the Oxypot system that's not a problem and i understand that the container must be light proof due to algae forming, i've heard of the Ona gel and i've also found me some DIY carbon filters.

If i scrog/train them i think if i can find a big pc case like a gaming case i might just be able to do it, but my worry is heat produced not so much for the plant itself as the exhaust/intake will be for take but the heat of the water reservoir as i've read that can cause diseases and sliming roots.

Just wanted to see if anyone succeeded with this method or its pretty much a failure waiting to happen.

If you use CFL's you wont have a problem with heat as long as you have some decent exhaust fans, you can get away with 125w comfortably with good exhaust, which is why I dont recommend a carbon filter. They will restrict the flow a lot and ona is sufficient for a pc grow.

Yes i did see them but only 1 of them is a PC dwc grow, i did read a bit into them and one stated that the reservoir its currently in will be to small when its bigger so i'm now wondering if its possible due to the space and possibly needing expanding?

I just really wanted to try dwc looks more challenging and fun specially if its your first, maybe ill just have to have a think about soil and dwc . Time for some more reading

You could build a sweet little aero system out of a black sterlite container or something. Cheap, easy, and you will get very fast growth. sometimes bud density is an issue with hydro or aero systems in my experience. So you might want to think about that, but yeah. Happy growing man

Yes i know I'm now rethinking the bubbleponic idea for the moment as i don't think its most practical idea with a Stealth PC Grow, plus for a beginner i do believe soil would be easier until i get grips with stuff. Wish you could get access to them brick connectors & y splitters round here makes it look so easy when setup rather than hard wiring separate mogul sockets up .

just go with coco dude its almost dwc but not pc grow dont have the room m8 happy growing

Is it worth buying fem over regular seeds?? How early on into the grow can you tell if its male or female with the regulars?

As soon as the get pre flowers, if your doing auto's about 2-3 weeks.

I always grow fem's, as I dont plan on breeding and dont need any males.
