Goooo buddy go!! looking good man! im jealous!!
Thanks man. I'm having a lot of fun doing it.
So, I can't seem to quell my insatiable thirst for tweaking and refining my grow.
-I had CFLs. That wasn't enough.
-I added mylar. That wasn't enough.
-I added SCROG'ed. That wasn't enough.
-I added LED. That wasn't enough.
-I made it completely stealth with still adequate cooling. That wasn't enough.
-I added HPS. That wasn't enough.
-I brought my temps down from 105F to 86F in one afternoon without sacrificing light. That wasn't enough.
-I bought more and more premium, organic nutes, dialed them in, with great results. That wasn't enough.
-I added CO2 (much worth it!). That wasn't enough.
-
I added a light mover. That didn't work. So I took it out. lol.
What improvements are left for a PC grow without adding heat or fucking something else up? The answer:
UVB.
Since I am only running a
.83 square foot grow, I wanted to add UVB but didn't want to significantly raise heat, not have to add another timer (for room's sake) to only run a UVB flouro for a few hours, and not ruin my plants with too much UVB. Plus, the top of my flowering White Dwarf is only probably 8" from the top of the case. So, I bought a 5.0 26w Zoo Med Reptisun (instead of the 10.0) that I figure I can run on the 18/6 and 12/12 schedule without adding too much UVB. Got the light for $17 shipped on eBay (and the seller is in my state! = quick shipping). Pics to follow

Now for usual updates. Made a few changes (duh, haha).
I removed the 13w LED as the Amnesia Lemon now has 4 main colas (thanks to all you threaders/posters about topping!) and can get the benefit of the 50w LED, the 35w HPS, and the 42w CFL. I replaced the 13w LED with a 20w warm CFL at the top of the case (temps are around 87F right near the bulbs--probably 80F mid-plant--with the CO2 supplementation they should be fine).
When I checked my plants this morning they were all droopy and sad! I said to myself, in a Sherlock Holmesian tone "what could it be, Watson?" Lo and behold, the soil was far too tried out as I hadn't watered in 6 days (it seemed semi-damp yesterday and the day before!). I watered and added a bit more bone meal and within hours all the leaves perked right back up as if they didn't miss a beat.
One last thing. I know this is a touchy issue. Some people are avid trimmers and some avoid trimming like the plague. Some just trim a little bit. There's the various arguments for
maximum photothensis w/ all the leaves = maximum bud and the contrarians yell
allow more light to get to the lower budsites, man!. Well, I heeded the advice of both and only trimmed a few leaves as necessary and as per these rules:
1. If a leaf was all yellow and dead and blocking a healthy leaf or bud site (especially if the leaf is close to light)--it got snipped.
2. If a leaf was kinda sickly, right in the light, and shielding a whole main or somewhat-main cola--it got snipped.
3. If a bottom, root-feeding leaf was sickly or dead and was blocking a productive root-feeding leaf--it got snipped.
4. The rest of the potentially-problem-causing leaves were tucked away SCROG fashion for ultimate bud-development and bushiness (my plant's canopy is probably as wide and even as it is tall).
(Relax guys, I snipped less than 1% of the total leaves and most of those leaves were all crinkly and nitrogen-sucked)
Will post pics as needed in the future (especially pending the results of the UVB supplement and the corresponding improvements--if any).
Sorry if this post is too long for too-stoned-to-read RIU-ers.
Best and thanks for everyone's help in this thread and others,
