well I managed 3 oz with 250w of CFL soooo

Good job on getting your cab pretty much the perfect size, you will want a cool tube especially with a 400w and a 5 inch RUCK (or similar brand) extractor. The cool tube allows plants to grow up to and touch the light, well the glass around the light without burning them that's how effective they are! also takes the heat away from the source so it doesn't overheat your box.

Seeing as she's in veg you can do some pretty extreme chopping so if she ever does start to overgrow you can just cut her back. Another way would be to grow a mother plant, root a clone, then flower the mother, keeping the clone as your next mum. But it makes perpetual a bit more difficult to calculate

I'm still going to have to chop early this grow, don't want to risk getting caught as the service guys coming round and it stinks with the exhaust off (only comes on when the lights on) and it's way too loud to have running during the day. So I'm going to do a nice upgrade, put the 270w LED in, set it up with my new DWC bucket and start over. It'll only be a week or 2 early so should still get some decent'ish smoke out of it, if not I'll make a ton of canna butter and have medibles XD

wow..well i only got 168w of cfl. I don't think the equivalent watts count if they did well then I have 600w equivalent.

Hey so I switched to flower should I leave 1 daylight cfl in their or just leave the all 4 flowering lights mimic in the hps?
When exactly does day 1 of flowering start when you switch to 12/12 or when they show signs of female?

nah you want actual watts 168 is good! If you can keep the temps good then leave a daylight and the flowering ones, mixed spectrum throughout is good!

Where are you, America, Europe? but most hydroponic stores pretty much anywhere have them (and most deliver), just don't be paranoid about buying offline your legally allowed everything you can buy or you can google home made ones and do a DIY one using a Pyrex bake around or something!

Some say Day 1 is from sex, some say from the switch... but I don't count days I just say right it's roughly 8 weeks they look ready or they could do with another week, just research harvesting in the dedicated harvesting and curing section and you can just see when they are done once you've looked at pics!

I'm going to try to do that temps us not a problem its more like if a 5 bulb fits.

well anyways your gonna need a real fan 6" would be best that way youll never worry about not having enough air and then you can duct that to a filter to the outside of the grow box(instead of inside) and have the air blow into the filter.

i run 400w + x2 2 bulb t12(160w total) + a 160w reptile heat/uvb bulb(this thing puts off as much heat as a 400w!) on a 6" fan through a 200cfm filter.(lotta restriction) ambient temps are about 70 room temp 80 its all about the fan placement.

I have a 6inch fan intake and a weak 4inch exhaust no fans inside my intake is at the bottom left hand corner of the box my exhaust is at the top right hand corner. No fans inside I have my light 1ft over my seedlings.
No hood or cooltube.

My intake blows air on to my seedlings temps down were my plants are sit at 80--90f but it feels way hotter I think maybe cause the air blows on my thermometer
So it says that temp ins try later on tonight and put my thermometer in a different location were bo air hits and see what are. The temps

centrifugal fans? or duct fans?(aka axial) either way switch the 6' to exhaust remove the 4' intake move to a way to blow across bulb towards exhaust this should sort all your prolems( move the 6" up where the 4" used to be. dont worry about an intake, for now, you should not need more than the 6" hole)

Lol im really ghetto im using a fan I took apart off of a humidafier air filter that didn't work anymore.
Looks just like a duct fan though.

So I thought about learning with the PC case. And now im just doing both lol

Yea it was my first real big grow with my 400w unfortunately. That happen. Bill came up high and males ugh pissed off.
I'm actually trying to downgrade to a 250w but I want to do at least one successful grow with this light.

my first grow was with this 175 mh i found in a closet rusty and buzzing loud as fuck grew one big ass Mexican male wasted about 3 months doing it. my second go around wasnt to bad a bunch of t12 shop lights in a closet. grew some buds that round.

Anybody willing to trade a 400w mh/hps for a 250w mh/hps with cooltube lol... I wish it was that easy.

once you have a chunky exhaust you shouldn't need an intake, just a hole in the bottom left, air will naturally be drawn through! And you want the exhaust top right 'cause heat rises

Yea did that my temps are at 80-85 dramatic change my taco leafs are going back down but my plants are still pointing up!! Maybe its just getting use to the the heat since I had it in the PC box with 60-70f .

hey guys is it normal for my bottom leafs to dry up and die. i know its normal for the 1 bladed leaf set but my 3 bladed leaf set of leafs are drying up and dieng too.
could it be gnats. i saw one at the begging of the grow. but i havent seen any since then since i killed the fuker i saw!
and ideas of what it might be?

lower leaves do tend to die off as the plant matures, even some 5 bladed ones might start going if they aren't getting enough light too, they are very clever at knowing what leaves to keep and loose

Keep an eye out for gnats if you think that's the problem, but don't panic and spray gnat killer everywhere until you know for sure!

not enough ligh or not enough N or even a combo of the 2 since your playing with small plants i would worry enough to fix, but not too much as it does happen and is not rare or of major consequence.
